It’s nearly time for one of our favourite days of the year – the Warlord Games Open Day! On the 21st of September, we’ll be throwing our doors open for the traditional access-all-areas experience. Tickets are now sold out! If you’re lucky enough to be attending, read on to find out what you can expect from the day, as well as some useful administrative bits.
Where and When?
Saturday 21st September 2024
10.00-17.00
Warlord Games
Unit 1a Central Court, Finch Close
Nottingham
NG72NN
Car Parking – Our neighbours across the road at Trentside Fittings have very kindly allowed us to use their yard as the customer carpark for this event – when you arrive by car, you’ll be directed to a spot by one of our helpful staff!
Public Transport – The best way to reach us if you’re coming in on the train is by tram! From the train station tram stop, get on any tram going to Toton Lane, and get off at the Gregory Street stop – from there it’s about 10 or 15 minutes’ walk – if you follow your usual map app, it’ll take you right to us!
You don’t a physical ticket to enter – just the name that you booked with! Before you know it, you’ll be in, and then…
What’s On?
There’ll be a huge range of things to do and see on the day, including our ever-popular factory and studio tours, where you can go behind the scenes to meet the amazing people who make Warlord Games tick, and follow the journey of one of our miniatures from the initial concept and design stage, through production and packaging, right up to it leaving the door. Our expert staff will guide you through our factory, explaining the nuts and bolts of the wargaming industry, and you’ll have a chance to look at some yet-to-be-released miniatures that have never been seen before!
Bolt Action: Third Edition
Coming just days before the official launch of Bolt Action: Third Edition, this Open Day is naturally all about the newest edition of our flagship game! We’ll have multiple introductory games running all day for you to try it out, with our expert staff on hand to answer your every question!
In addition, if you’ve pre-ordered your copy of the new rulebook, you can pick it up at the Open Day! If you’d like to do this and didn’t select ‘Collection from Warlord Games Open Day’ at checkout, please email our award-winning customer service team at info@warlordgames.com, by 17th September, and they’ll get everything arranged for you!
Seminars
One of the most eagerly anticipated segments of our open day is always the series of talks and seminars given by some absolute legends of the industry, and this year is no different! Speakers include:
- John Stallard and Rick Priestley, legends of Warlord Games (and the wargames industry generally) who need little introduction!
- Alessio Cavatore and Beth Walsh, who’ll be talking about all things Bolt Action: Third Edition!
- Andy Chambers and Roger Gerrish, discussing all manner of interesting things – we wonder what these two chaps might have to talk about at the moment!
Demonstration Games & Special Guests
Plus a wide range of fun activities, including (of course) plenty of demonstration games of the brand new Bolt Action: Third Edition alongside all of our other games, a huge participation game of Black Powder: Epic Battles courtesy of the Friends of General Haig gaming club, and our Battle of the Bulge display board project. We’ll also have the legendary Mel Bose giving demonstrations of his terrain-building techniques, and incredible painters Bjarni Dali and Tommie Soule will be on hand, signing copies of their respective volumes of the Art of… book series!
Deals and Goodies!
When you arrive, you’ll be handed a goodie bag packed with a fantastic range of Warlord products, including the exclusive Open Day Miniature, General McAuliffe! In addition, our HQ store will be running a wide range of special deals, including £15 (the cost of your ticket!) off any starter set (excluding pre-orders), army, or fleet, meaning you can pick up some absolute bargains on the day – perfect for an evening hobby session when you get home!
We can’t wait to welcome you to our home!
