It’s a good time to be a fan of armoured fighting vehicles. Achtung Panzer!, the game of WWII armoured warfare, is getting its first supplement! Let’s check out what you can expect to find inside Iron Coffins, coming to pre-order on Friday 11th April.
First off – tanks, lots of tanks! Iron Coffins is absolutely packed with new profiles for over 150 armoured (and unarmoured!) vehicles from all across the Second World War – everything from the tiny Renault FT to the gargantuan Panzer VIII ‘Maus’ – and even beyond. No matter what kind of force you want to field, Iron Coffins has you covered, vastly expanding the number of tanks and nations represented in-game.
It’s not just the tanks covered by the new rules, either! Achtung Panzer! is going global, with terrain-specific special rules allowing you to turn your tabletop into a wide variety of difficult ground, from boggy quagmire to frozen steppes to deserts, and beyond. Accompanying these are a series of legendary historical engagements to re-fight, as well as some ‘what-if’ scenarios and even rules for tank combat in the Korean War!
Fans of Achtung Panzer!’s campaign system have plenty to cheer about, too. Real-life tank aces join the fray to command your forces, and bring with them a host of new Ace skills, all meshing with the expanded campaign rules found in Iron Coffins to bring your linked games to life like never before. Crew survivability takes a dramatic turn with rules for saving (or capturing!) bailed-out tankers, and with a whopping 109 new Asset and Event cards, games will feature plenty of hard-fought action and a million different twists and turns!
Iron Coffins pre-orders go live this Friday, and anyone purchasing the book from our webstore will also receive a pair of exclusive Stanley Christopherson special miniatures. Rules for fielding Christopherson, the legendary Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry commander, can be found in the book, and he’s a great choice to lead your British tanks into action. As such, you’ll get a version of him on foot, and a tank commander ‘half’ figure for mounting in a suitable commander’s hatch!
