Warlord Games Wigan: THE GRAND OPENING

July 4th will be a very special day – and not just for our American cousins! Our first ever store outside of Nottingham will be holding its official Grand Opening, and we’d love you to come over to Wigan and be a part of it.

Now, the Wigan store has been open for a couple of weeks, to let Kris Sherriff and his team get everything set up and make sure it’s all working – the till, the tables, and most importantly the boiling vessel – but the 4th will be when we make it ‘officially official’! The training wheels will be off, and it’ll be a fully operational part of the Warlord Games machine! This means that we can have a Grand Opening in the store in all its glory, rather than a work in progress, so that’s exactly what we’ll be doing!

So, what can you expect from the Grand Opening? The capital letters make it seem like there’s going to be something bigger than usual happening, right?

Right!

First off, we’re going to have loads of great exclusive deals across our ranges, only available to people who’re actually present on the day. We know you don’t need much encouragement to add to your collections, but we wanted to say thank you to everyone who comes down, and what better way to do that than with more toy soldiers?

Secondly, we’ve also wheeled out the experts – it’s Warlord Games Wigan, after all, so let’s talk about games!  Bolt Action author and industry legend Alessio Cavatore will be on hand to answer your burning questions and give you an exclusive announcement about the next book in the Armies of… series. He won’t be alone, either. We’ve also got Dan Hewitson, lead author of Konflikt ‘47, fresh from his laboratories to tell you all about the impossible power of the Rifts. These two heavy hitters will be on hand to sign books, dispense pearls of wisdom, and maybe even roll some dice.

If you want to chat hobby, we’ve got one of the very best in the business, too. Slayer Sword-winning Kirsten Williams, one of our Design Studio Painters, will be in-store, painting some upcoming models and answering all your painting questions. Want to know how she executed a particular model? Kirsten will have her legendary folder of recipes with her, so you can learn her secrets and recreate them at home!

If you want to get hobbying straight away, we’ll be running a Paint’n’Take all day with some great Konflikt ’47 models, so you can show off your skills and bolster your ranks at the same time. On the gaming front, we’ll have participation games of Konflikt ‘47, Bolt Action, and Epic Battles: Revolution (it is Independence Day, after all!) for you to join in with – no models needed, just turn up and roll some dice!

It’s going to be a packed day. Doors open at 1100, and we expect to be busy all the way through ‘til close at 1800. There’s no entry fee or limit – just turn up and have a great time with us as we celebrate all the hard work by Kris and the rest of his Wigan team to get us to this point!
