The end is nigh for Bolt Action: Second Edition, as Third Edition will soon be upon us – but there’s still time to squeeze in just a few more tournaments! We’re used to supporting tournaments all over the world, but we’ve got the opportunity to run one more of our own at a fantastic event – and we’ve taken it! Bolt Action is coming to the 2024 London Grand Tournament!

London grand Tournament

This prestigious event is a celebration of all things wargaming, with many of the world’s most popular games well-represented, and it’s time for Bolt Action to take its rightful place among them. Taking place at the Lee Valley Athletics Centre in North London, on the 28th and 29th of September, the LGT is an event we’re incredibly excited to be at – so we’re coming in person! Yours truly will be the TO, and players will have the chance to be the first people to play on the brand-new terrain and tables that we’re currently working on, which will make their debut at the LGT.

On to the nuts and bolts of the event – it’s important to note that, happening only two days after the release of the new edition, this will be a Bolt Action: Second Edition event! It’s a bit much to ask people to learn the new book and restructure their armies basically overnight, so we’re making this a real ‘farewell to the old’ tournament – bring your favourite units and armies from Second Edition, or perhaps that one unit or vehicle you really wanted to take to an event but never got around to! Think of it as the perfect opportunity to break out the ‘greatest hits’ from your collection! We’ll be running some absolutely classic Bolt Action missions, and showing off everything that we love about the world’s best WWII wargame. It’ll be a fast-paced, friendly, and above all fun weekend of wargaming.

As we’re coming down in person to run this event, and given its proximity to the release of Bolt Action: Third Edition, in addition to our usual prize spread we wanted to do something a bit special. Each player will be receive a raffle ticket when they arrive, and at the end of the event we’ll do a draw (out of a dice bag, naturally!) to determine two lucky winners. One will get the brand new Battle of the Bulge starter set, while the other will receive a Third Edition rulebook, signed by no lesser personage than the author himself, Alessio Cavatore!
