It’s that time of year again! This Saturday is our annual Open Day, where we throw open our doors and welcome you all into the heart of Warlord Games. As is tradition, we’ve got loads of fun things for you to see and do, as well as plenty of awesome deals for you to take advantage of. Let’s see what’s on the menu for Saturday!

Seminars!

One of the perennial highlights of the Open Day are the seminars, where the minds behind our games and models reveal their secrets and answer your questions about the past, present, and future of Warlord Games. This year we’ve got a stacked bill, with some seriously heavy hitters:

11:00 – 12:00: It’s a Warlord World!
John Stallard and Rick Priestley give their customary commentary on all things Warlord Games, wargaming, and more. These two industry legends have decades of experience at the very top level of the toy soldier business, and you can guarantee that they’ll have some very interesting bits of information to reveal!

13:00 – 14:00: The Ins & Outs of Bolt Action
Bolt Action author Alessio Cavatore and sculptor extraordinaire Wojtek Flis take you through how Bolt Action comes to life from two angles – miniatures and rules – and talk about how one informs the other when it comes to designing new products!

1500 – 1600: Step Into the Rift!
Konflikt ’47 fans, this is the one for you! Project head Peter Gosling, lead author Dan Hewitson, and sculptor Jon Heeney will be revealing (some) of the secrets of Dresden and Los Alamos with an exclusive look at game and miniatures design, the upcoming Invasion Amerika, and the future of K47!

Demo & Participation Games, Activities, and More!

Want to try out one of our games? We’ve got you covered, with demo stands for Konflikt ’47, Bolt Action, Black Powder, Hail Caesar, Pike & Shotte, and Black Seas running throughout the day. Open Day stalwarts The Friends of General Haig will also be present, running a massive Anglo-Zulu War participation game for anyone wanting to roll some dice or just marvel at their always impressive table. Our HQ Store team have also been hard at work creating an amazing Invasion Amerika display board, packed with the latest models, for you to marvel at.

We’ve also got speedpainting competitions running all day, a content creator panel featuring some painting masterclasses from top hobby youtubers, and of course our ever-popular tours. If you’ve ever wanted to go behind the scenes, find out how we make your favourite games and miniatures, and talk to the experts who bring it all to life, now’s your chance! Tours will run all day long, departing from the foyer with the first beginning at 1010 and the last at 1540. To join, simply gather at the signposted meeting point, and you’ll be included on the next one that has space!

Great Deals & Goody Bags!

When you arrive, you’ll be handed a goody bag full of awesome loot – we’ll keep the contents secret for now, but trust me, you’ll enjoy it! In addition, you’ll get £25 off any starter set, army, or fleet – essentially giving you the cost of your ticket back! Naturally, the store will also be fully stocked, and with our warehouse right next door, it’s the perfect time to stock up on everything you need for new and existing projects.

Our sister company Skytrex will be there of course with their fantastic range of MDF terrain, gaming equipment and other goodies

As a special treat for attendees, Invasion Amerika and the new models will be on sale, exclusively on the day. If you want to pick up the newest Konflikt ’47 supplement and miniatures a few days before their official release, this is your chance!

We’ll also have some special deals online and instore at Warlord Games Wigan over the weekend for anyone who can’t make it on the day. Stay tuned for full details in Friday’s newsletter!
