“The sun always shines on Rally Point” according to founder Simon Neville, and in this case he wasn’t wrong. Saturday 3rd of October saw a purple horde descend on Warlord Games HQ under blue skies, from all corners of the UK and even further afield in the case of the inimitable Norse Paints. Rally Point Games and Minds does amazing work organising gaming events to raise awareness and funds for MIND, the mental health charity, as well as creating a welcoming space to make a positive impact on the gaming community. Which is another way of saying they are lovely people doing great work!

All of the attendees are brilliantly talented hobbyists and most are very active on various social media platforms, including a couple you might recognise. Most of their members were pretty new to Warlord Games so we arranged a day of introductions, including the chance to learn to play Bolt Action and Konflikt ‘47, plus plenty of time for some hobby activity, building and painting our miniatures.

As preparation for the event we sent out a Konflikt ‘47 unit to everyone to paint, incorporating the Rally Point colours, so that they could play a big battle at the end of the day. Not surprisingly the results were spectacular! Here are just a few examples:

There are far too many to show here, so we’ll be putting the rest on our socials over the next few weeks. The armies these models make up will be raffled off by Rally Point to raise more money for mental health awareness.

It was truly a privilege to host these amazing hobbyists, and by all accounts everyone had a great time. We started with a tour, then the chance to play around with a selection of our plastic models. Chris Bilewicz was also on hand to share the fun and show the creators round our photography studio.

The HQ store lads did their usual job of being brilliant hosts and running exciting games to get everyone up to speed on the rules, and the day finished with two big battles using the models they had painted in advance.

A day of awesome hobby fun as well as raising cash and awareness for a good cause – what’s not to like? While this was the first time we’d hosted Rally Point, I’m sure it won’t be the last. If you’d like to support Rally Point Games and MIND you can find their Instagram page here.
