This summer, join in the global action as part of Operation Critical Hit, a five-week worldwide campaign for Bolt Action, Blood Red Skies, and Victory at Sea. Gaming stores and clubs from all around the world will be taking part, meaning that your everyday gaming impacts the overall results!

The easiest way to get involved is to pop into your local store and ask if they’re taking part in Operation Critical Hit. Choose whether you’ll be fighting for the Axis or Allies, and sign on the dotted line, soldier! If you don’t have a gaming store or club nearby, don’t worry! You can also register results online yourself, so all those games with your mates will count too.

But what is Operation Critical Hit? It’s a global campaign where the results of your games of Bolt Action, Blood Red Skies, and Victory at Sea influence the ebb and flow of battle in four theatres of operations – North-West Europe, the Pacific, the Mediterranean, and Eastern Europe. Each week you’ll battle for control of different areas of each hex-based map, with your victories and defeats helping build up the overall picture. The Operation Critical Hit website will track all of these, and show you the situation, so you can decide where best to commit your forces – will you be the hero of the hour in a desperate situation, or take advantage of an enemy on the back foot to keep pressing? It’s all in your hands!

While the overall prize for victory will be the satisfaction of a job well done (and the all-important bragging rights over your gaming buddies!), it wouldn’t be a proper campaign without an exclusive figure – enter Redcap, Corps of Military Police!

The Corps of Military Police were known as Redcaps due to the distinctive red cover of their peaked caps. Our stoic Redcap can be imagined challenging an unknown interloper, or perhaps guarding enemy prisoners of war. The fantastic new Military Policeman will be available in strictly limited numbers throughout the campaign – stay tuned for details on how to get your hands on him!

So get those models prepped, soldier – make ready for war…

Look out for more information on Operation Critical Hit via the Warlord Games Newsletter in the run-up to August.

  1. How do you join this campaign, there is a small group of use that meet at my home to play bolt action and would love to take part.

  2. These global campaigns are always a lot of fun – certainly enjoyed the last one that included Operation Sealion. Was there another I missed? Regardless, looking forward to early USMC and Far East British versus the Japanese (land and naval) as well as some dueling in the North African desert between the British, Italians and Germans. Great fun in store! Echoing another – no Cruel Seas?
