As you may have seen by now, Konflikt ’47 is a pretty big deal, and a lot of people are getting very excited about it indeed. Nowhere is this more true than at Warlord HQ, where K47 hype is reaching epic proportions. We’ve got serious concentrations of excitement building up inside the building, so to prevent an explosion, we’ve taken five of our most rabid staffers, and given them an outlet…

A TALE OF FIVE GAMERS

The deal is simple. We gave five Warlord staffers a Konflikt ’47 starter army of their choice, and told them to go away and get it all built and painted. After that, there will be a series of challenges (okay, they’ll be playing a load of games against each other!), culminating in an epic five-way melee at the end of the series.

All the Konflikt ’47 Reveals from UK Games Expo
This series will culminate in a seriously big battle. Imagine a really huge fight – no, bigger than that! First, though, the gamers will need to gather their forces…

It’s not just the starter armies fighting it out, though. Each month, our valiant gamers will be able to add a new unit to their force – provided they get it fully painted and based in time! The games will escalate over the coming months in both size and tactical complexity, until we get to our dramatic final showdown. There can be only one winner, but right now we’ve got five hopefuls – let’s meet them!

INTRODUCING THE GAMERS

Konflikt '47 by Warlord Games

Steff Sorensen – Marketing – Empire of Japan
Steff joined Warlord a year ago, starting in metal casting before joining the dark side (marketing). In her spare time she enjoys painting ungodly amounts of miniatures, hitting nerds with swords, and developing obscure games systems.

Recently, she’s painted a US Airborne force, a Mythic Americas Maya army, and some Romans. Her fastest project so far has been painting two Konflikt ‘47 starter sets in four days!

Steff says she’s planning to paint her Japanese force in a neon pink base coat, topped with a muted yellow!

We considered an intervention, but given that Steff’s a really good painter we’re going to see how this colour scheme goes… for now. – ed.

Shane Moore – Packing – Axis
Shane started working here a year ago, packing your orders and weeding out miscasts before they can get out into the wild. In his spare time he enjoys painting, playing D&D, and power-leveling characters in Diablo.

He painted up our new dragon a few months ago, and it’s his handiwork you can see in the product photos on our website!

Shane wants his Axis troops to look sinister, so is going to give them a ‘Green Vault’ glow.

Rumours that Shane has diverted 17% of the Axis production line directly to his hobby room are completely unfounded. We know this because we had to conduct a full investigation. -ed.

Conor Hind – HQ Store & Customer Service – United States
Conor is an eight-year veteran, and the first face you see at the Warlord Games HQ Store. A regular on our social media and in the customer service inbox, he can always be found wherever he’s needed most.

A prolific hobbyist, Conor can usually be found working on his most recent hobby project and has had several of his armies showcased, including an extensive Bolt Action British collection and his most recent obsession, winter US.

Conor’s United States force will continue on with his Winter US, adding a few more modern influences to the traditional WWII style. He’ll also be embracing the full grim and apocalyptic nature of Konflikt ‘47, so his force will be battered, bloodied, but unbowed!

We’d like to reassure readers that Conor will still be available to help you in our HQ store during this series, but kindly ask that you don’t comment if he’s covered in fake blood. Apparently it’s all part of his ‘process’. – ed.

Jon Heeney – Miniatures Design & DFM – Soviet Bloc
Jon joined Warlord Games in late 2019 as a caster and mould-maker, working on the then-secret Warlord Resin project. Since then, he’s worked his way up, and is now one of the lead designers behind the vehicles and mechs of Konflikt ‘47. When he’s not bringing new models to life at work, he enjoys writing science fiction, and creating 3D designs of his own.

He’s previously painted some grim French Fortress Troops and a King Tiger adorned with grisly trophies, both of which are on the community site, while his Soviets will be ripped straight out of Red Alert – it’s red and black all the way!

Jon recently had to be given a talking to after he was caught designing a 1:1 scale Molot walker. He claimed it was to replace our events van and would ensure a 100% sales conversion rate at shows. -ed.

Chris ‘The Brush’ Bilewicz – Hobby Content Producer – British Commonwealth
Chris is the newbie of the group – a fresh-faced six-month Warlorder who’s barely seen daylight since he arrived and was locked away in the camera studio. He’s been busy creating the striking imagery you’ve seen across our books and social media, and we occasionally let him out to make coffee.

A self-confessed hobby magpie, Chris is forever flitting between projects, and if you ask him what he’s working on, the answer is usually “yes”.

Chris was originally going to do a Red Alert-style Soviet force, but Jon Heeney beat him to the punch with some keen espionage work, and got his submission form in first. We’re eagerly anticipating what form Chris’ revenge will take!

Chris is so tall that our other players complained that his ‘top-down’ view of the gaming table gives him an unfair tactical advantage. We’re remedying this by making him play all of his games kneeling down. -ed.
