Warlord Games CEO John Stallard

Warlord Games bossman John Stallard is a lifelong hobbyist, and works on a very simple principle – plug away for an hour or two every single evening. In this manner, he’s amassed a frankly staggering collection of miniatures, with dozens of enormous armies populating his spectacular gaming room. Let’s take a little look at what he’s been up to lately.

This month, John’s been hard at work on his Epic Battles: Revolution! forces, and he’s looking forward to starting a very interesting new project as well!

John’s continued apace with his Epic Battles: Revolution! project, adding some Foot Guards to his British forces. These elite troops make a brave sight on the tabletop, with their banners flying. Historically, we know that the Guards didn’t take their Colours to America, but John, like many of us, is of the firm belief that everything looks better with a nice flag or two! These models can also be used to represent any British regular troops on campaign who have bashed their tricorns into a more practical shape.

The Guards march out!

These Highlanders are in an unusual combination of uniform, having discarded their plaid trews for plain white trousers, while retaining their feathered bonnets. They make for a great painting challenge, and John has high hopes for their tabletop performance – they certainly look ‘manly’ enough for the job!

No British force is complete without Scottish troops!

John’s hobbying never stops, with plenty more Revolution! units on the way. He’s currently working on more stands of woodland Indians, more Hessians, and a small battalion of British Grenadiers, plus four artillery batteries and Tarleton’s cavalry. Just a bit to be getting on with, then! Currently, his forces are returning from their campaigns over at Historicon, but when they get back, he’ll be ready to get some games in – and we’ll run a feature on the whole force!

On that note – John’s asked me to mention his good friend Kelly, who’s currently painting up his Patriots, and to pass on a message:

Get a move on, Kelly!

You can never have too many troops!

As for what’s next? Well, John’s Konflikt ’47 Japanese force continues to grow, and we eagerly await the next completed units, but John’s also setting his sights a little closer to home, with a project showing off even more things you can do with the new Revolution! miniatures. Now, whatever could that mean..?
