Warlord Games CEO John Stallard
John surveys one of his many, many armies!

Warlord Games bossman John Stallard is a lifelong hobbyist, and works on a very simple principle – plug away for an hour or two every single evening. In this manner, he’s amassed a frankly staggering collection of miniatures, with dozens of enormous armies populating his spectacular gaming room. Let’s take a little look at what he’s been up to lately.

This month, John’s kept up the pace with his Epic Battles: Revolution! project, and added more to his Konflikt ’47 Japanese force. This month, he’s also joined by special guest Kelly Sherwood, who has lent his brush to aid our Design Studio team!

AWI Militia by Warlord Games

John’s American War of Independence collection continues to grow – these militia infantry and cavalry join a force that’s expanding by the day!

AWI British Regulars by Warlord Games

John’s been refining his technique for painting Epic Battles strips through plenty of practice. His advice – don’t paint the bits that you don’t need to! When the strips are ranked up on their base, there are parts that simply can’t be seen at all, so they can be left in their primer colour. Instead, spend the extra time on the parts that can be seen!

This British brigade is the latest addition to John’s collection, and naturally he had to make sure that the famous British Grenadiers were represented. Next up is a brigade of Hessians to support them, and after that it’ll be on to the artillery.

Konflikt '47 Battle Exoskeletons by Warlord Games

It’s not all Revolution! John’s added this squad of Battle Exoskeletons to his Konflikt ’47 Japanese force. He particularly enjoyed the basing process, imagining these deadly troops waiting in ambush for the opportunity to launch their strike!

AWI British Foot Guards by Warlord Games

This month, John’s also joined in his hobby corner by a special guest and good friend. When the Design Studio needed some more of the upcoming British Foot Guards for Black Powder Epic Battles: Revolution!, Kelly Sherwood ably stepped into the breach, providing us with these lovely figures. Thank you, Kelly!

Join us next month as we check back in with the boss, to see what new hobby he’s gotten up to!
