The Bolt Action releases keep coming thick and fast, and with Armies of the United States: Third Edition now out in the world, it’s time to meet the next book – Armies of Great Britain: Third Edition, please take the stage!
Now on pre-order ahead of its 31st July release, Armies of Great Britain: Third Edition is your authoritative guide to fielding a British force in games of Bolt Action. This 112-page tome contains everything you need to turn your collection of miniatures into a well-honed fighting force, capable of tackling any challenge, as well as gorgeous artwork and photography to inspire your painting and modelling.
New Units! New Rules!
Armies of Great Britain: Third Edition collects a host of units old and new from across the Second World War, making it the essential publication for every British player. Accompanying these unit profiles are a brand new set of National Special Rules, ensuring that a British force feels truly unique and fun to play. As with all of our Armies of… books, these rules replace those found in the Bolt Action: Third Edition rulebook, bringing even more depth and variation to how you utilise your miniatures.
New Special Figure!

It’s a proud Warlord tradition to accompany each Bolt Action book with a fantastic exclusive special figure, and Armies of Great Britain: Third Edition is no exception. Alongside the book comes Captain John Henry Cound Brunt, VC, MC! This legendary British officer would win both the Military Cross and Victoria Cross for his fearlessness and determination in battle during the Italian campaign, where on multiple occasions he took the fight directly and personally to the enemy, wielding a variety of weapons to deadly effect. Tragically, he would be killed the day after the action for which he would later be awarded the Victoria Cross. Our figure depicts him in the thick of the fighting, firing a Bren gun, and he’s a perfect addition to any British collection.
New Miniatures!
It’s not just the book, either! Following our Bolt Action roadmap, we’ve got a brand new box of plastic British & Canadian infantry, and these chaps are wrapped up warm! Right now you can pre-order our brand new British & Canadian Infantry (Winter) Platoon boxed set and the ‘Crossing the Rhine’ Starter Army, and you can expect to see commanders, weapons teams, and more joining this range in the coming weeks! Perfect for the push into Germany in 1944-45, they’re a worthy addition to our extensive British range. Look out for in-depth sprue show-offs and more during the pre-order period to get you inspired.

Fans of armour have a new goodie to look forward to as well! The M3 ‘Grant’ medium tank brings powerful firepower (and plenty of it!) to mid-war British forces. Ideally suited to forces themed around North Africa, this new plastic kit is a delight to build and paint, and packs a punch on the tabletop to boot with a pair of anti-tank guns!

A Note on the Commonwealth…
We don’t want to give away too many secrets (we’re saving them for the upcoming Intel Report series!), but we do want to let you know something very important early on: this book is Armies of Great Britain, specifically. Now, Britain did not stand alone during the Second World War, even in her darkest hour. Across the world, the vast manpower and resources of the ‘Empire on which the sun never sets’ were ready and able to come to Britain’s aid – indeed, the vast majority of Empire, Commonwealth, and Dominion nations had been doing so right from the outbreak of war. The vital contributions of these nations cannot and should not be overlooked, but are very definitely a subject for another publication. Suffice it to say that it would be entirely unfair to lump these nations in as an addendum to this book; their efforts deserve to stand on their own merit – and they’ll do just that in an upcoming Armies of… book dedicated entirely to them!
