Festival del Joc del Montserratí
Olesa de Montserrat will host the first edition of the Festival del Joc del Montserratà on 21-22 March 2026 a community event designed to promote gaming culture and social interaction through play. Throughout the weekend, the town will become a large meeting point featuring 80+ activities for all ages.
The festival is built around four main pillars: children’s & family games, board games, roleplaying games, and wargames, miniatures, and hobby. Each area will offer open game libraries, tournaments, guided sessions, demonstrations, and activities tailored to different experience levels. The programme will take place in distinctive venues across the town, strengthening the bond between play, landscape, and local cultural life.
A strong focus on wargaming, miniatures, and hobby
The wargaming & miniatures pillar will be a key highlight of the festival, with a clear ambition to create a vibrant space for both newcomers and veteran players. Expect a weekend full of:
– Introductory demo games and learn-to-play sessions to bring new players into the hobby
– Guided battles and scenario-driven games with experienced hosts
– Organised play and tournaments for those looking for competitive play
– Showcase tables and hobby content (miniatures, terrain, modelling and painting culture)
– Painting competition, guided painting lessons and a relaxed space to paint miniatures with AK Interactive material.
– A welcoming environment where the miniatures community can meet, play, and share the hobbies from building armies to telling stories on the tabletop
This is the festival area where collaboration with **Warlord Games can really shine: highly visible, hands-on, and built around discovery and community engagement.
More than games
The Festival del Joc del Montserratà will also include complementary proposals such as games with designers, presentations of games and books, talks, live podcasts, and activities aimed at encouraging and spreading gaming culture.
A proven, active community
Olesa already has a very active gaming community, built over more than twenty years around the Club de Rol dâ Olesa de Montserrat (CROM), which brings together 150+ members from across the region. The festival is born with the aim of taking a step forward and becoming a county-wide reference point for players, creators, and publishers.
Organisation
The festival is co-organised by the Festival del Joc del Montserratà Association and CROM, with the collaboration of the Town Council of Olesa de Montserrat, and with support from local organisations, neighbourhood associations, businesses, and sponsors. The festival already has 60+ volunteers who will make this first edition possible and bring the event to life.
