Battle of the Bulge 2026
his will be a team event taking place over three extra large 6X8 foot tables. Two teams of three players will play over each table. The overall theme of the event will be the Battle of the Bulge and each table will cover a historical event from the battle. For example, one table will cover the offensive by Kampfgruppe Peiper and their efforts to secure allied fuel dumps. Another will cover the intervention by the British and their crossing of the River Meuse and another table will cover the Siege of Bastogne.
This event will differ from previous large-scale games because the tables have been separated. This will enable smoother gameplay and it will also allow each table to have its own distinct theme. The event will also be awesome because I will be incorporating rules from the Battle of the Bulge campaign book such as fog and fuel shortages. For example, I will be using fog rules for the British table, fuel shortage rules for German vehicles son every table and also the dug in rules from the V3 rulebook for the Bastogne table. I have also encouraged players to bring unusual units from the campaign book such as disguised German troops and vehicles. I have also provided players with suggested historical units to model towards such as the 101st Airborne, Panzer Lehr and Volksgrenadiers. Several players have started entirely new armies for this event and we are currently keeping each other updated on our progress on social media. One player in particular has been kitbashing an army based on Panzerbrigade 150, which will be great to see on the day. As players will each be playing a single game throughout the day, they will also be able to bring much larger armies that they would normally take to a tournament. The standard army size will be 2000 points with a recommended dice cap of 25, while the attacking German players on the Bastogne table will be taking 2400 points, giving them a 20% advantage over the defenders.
In addition to giving players the opportunity to play with unusual rules and units, this will also give players a chance to play competitive narrative events with a historical theme on a large scale. This will set the event apart from a standard tournament.
