A Sleeping Giant

The event is in remembrance of the 84th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941. This attack, a pivotal moment in World War II, is remembered each year designated as National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. The event serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made during the attack and the subsequent war. On Dec 8th, 1941, the US declared war on Japan, with Germany declaring war on the US on Dec 11th, although the first major land battles for the US did not occur until 1942. War was still raging between the British Commonwealth against Germany and Italy in North Africa, Mediterranean and Middle East, Germany invading Russia in Operation Barbarossa, and Japan expanding in East Asia and Pacific.

This thematic tournament will be set in the mid war era, with tables set up to represent various themes and battles during the mid-war timeframe (1942-1943). This event is meant to be casual and fun for all involved, be it a newer player or experienced. However, it is still a tournament and friendly competition is also still encouraged.
