DESCRIPTION:BREAKING NEWS\, CHANGE OF VENUE FOR THIS YEAR’S SHOW.  \nThis years event will be held at the LEASOWES LEISURE CENTRE\, Kent Road\, Halesowen\, B62 8PJ\, Sunday 30th November 2014 \n \nWhat’s New? \nBeing an avid Star Wars fan I thought you would all appreciate a picture of the Star Wars participation game I put on at Alumwell show a while back\, I have staged the assault on Hoth game there a number of times\, in different scales\, and run a few assault on the Death star games at a few local shows\, I also dabbled with a Lord of the Rings game (Helms Deep) I love putting a smile on peoples faces\, and although I do not get the chance to put a game on at my own show\, there is enough there on the day\, by way of gamers and traders\, to do the job for me. So come along\, if you have a good time\, tell your friends\, if not come and tell me\, I will be running the bring and buy (best talk to me in the afternoon when it all calms down a bit). Have fun\, talk to lots of people. If you want to play one of my games\, I hope to stage the Battle of Naboo (Droids vs Gungans) at the Alumwell show\, next year.

SUMMARY:Battleground - Stockton-on-Tees
DESCRIPTION:The Battleground show\, established in 2009\, started life as Smoggycon\, and was organised by Stuart Johnston and the Middlesbrough Gamers Club.  From 2013\, Pendraken Miniatures took over the organising of the show\, with the aim to build on the excellent foundations already in place. \nFor 2014\, the show is moving to a new home\, at the Queens Campus Sports Hall\, in Stockton-on-Tees.  This building is part of the Stockton Campus of Durham University\, and provides a modern spacious hall\, able to house a bigger number of games and traders\, as well as offering local attractions and nearby shopping facilities for our visitors. \nOur main aim is to constantly improve the show\, making it into one of the major shows in the north of England.  We hope you’ll come along and join us for a great day out! \nAnd of course Warlord will be there in force so be sure to come and say hello!

The venue has a fully licenced bar and boasts easy accesses to hotels\, restaurants and good night life\, for those of us that can play games with a hangover. \nFirm believes that if it ain’t broken don’t fix it\, similar to last year. You will embark on a 2 day campaign style Tournament to try and re-write the chapters of history. There is 10 Axis and 10 Allied places.\nNo Blue on Blue. \nYou will be fighting 5 games\, 4 at 1000pts \, and of course as we had such great feed back last year\, one 650pts per player co-op armoured platoon game. \nTo start the weekend off Saturday morning\, players will be random put together to form a co-operative alliance\, so you play side by side with somebody you don’t know. this will allow you to get involved with everyone at the tournament\, and help you to get acquainted with friend and foe alike. \nThis year we will incorporate the theme again of playing not only for yourselves but for the side you represent (Axis/Allies). This will be represented on the day of the event for all to see. \nThere will be prizes for the top 3 players from each side over the full weekend\, along with prizes for the winners of both days. Also prizes will be given for acts of valour and stupidity alike. Armii Krajowej 101\, 81-824 Sopot\, Poland\n \nDetails: Entry fee 8€/30PLN for players\, FREE for viewers. Players are to bring armies of up to 742 points created either using the Generic Reinforced Platoon or Theatre Selectors that take place in 1942 or no later than 1943 (British Commandos are allowed). Theatre Selectors armies can give one infantry unit anti-tank grenades for free. There will be two 1v1 and one 2v1 games played on 30th and one big 3v3 or more players game played on 31st. This is not a tournament but a narrative campaign and will be moderated by the event organiser.

DESCRIPTION:After the massively successful first Games Day last year we are going to hold another! \nThe day is a celebration of everything that is great about Warlord Games and the hobby in general. \n \nWe will be showcasing all our rules sets through fantastic looking intro games as well as showing off the processes of design\, sculpting\, moulding and casting. Guided tours will talk/walk you through the various departments while the factory units are hard at work. \n \nTo help us achieve this we will be inviting Warlord’s friends to show off games and products that lift our hobby overall. This will include terrain makers\, figure painters\, artists\, authors and modellers. \n \nIn house we will be running Q&A sessions with Rick Priestley and Alessio Cavatore as well as giving fantastic deals on product to the lucky ones who have come along. There will be plenty of the new Beyond the Gates of Antares figures on show and for sale too. \n \nSonnets Cafe will again be feeding the masses with their huge BBQ and catering facilities. \n***This event sold out last year so please get your tickets early*** \nPlease note the event is in the same venue as last year\, sadly this means disabled access is very difficult.
