DESCRIPTION:About the Show\n\n \nNext Show: Saturday 20th June 2015\nPhalanx is an wargaming and skirmish gaming convention established for over 20 years focusing on miniatures rather than card games or board games. It offers an excellent opportunity to browse a massive range of manufacturers products up close and personal. You can speak to the traders face to face\, handle the miniatures before you decide to buy and haggle on price if you want a better deal. \nThere are over 40 traders each year offering products which cover every aspect and period of wargaming  from historical periods to ultra Sci-Fi. \nThe traders are from all over the UK most bring plenty of stock but if you have a particularly large order I advise contacting them first and and placing your order on the phone to be picked up at the convention. \nAround the main hall you will find demonstration games created by clubs and traders which add flavour and colour to the show\, you can chat with the organisers of the games at your leisure\, you will find them enthusiastic about the building of the terrain\, the collecting of the figures and the story behind the game. Some games are participation and offer a chance to join in and have some fun\, kids especially love to get involved in the participation aspect to demonstration games. \nThe venue is a large sports centre with plenty of easy parking for the car owner\, but if you are travelling by public transport the Centre is opposite a main line train station and bus stop. \nGood lighting offers a detailed look at the products on show. \nUnfortunately the cafe is not available again this year\, but a caterer is being organised for the day and vending machine facilities are available.

Campaign 2015 will take place over the weekend 9th/10th May 2015. We will be working closely with the centre:mk Marketing and Exhibition departments to improve both the presentation of Campaign\, and the interaction between Campaign and those members of the public passing through the event. I am sure that all of you that intend being part of Campaign 2015\, will be inspired by the challenge of raising the profile of our hobby. I would like to thank the centre:mk management for their enthusiastic support for a continuation of our fourteen year relationship. So\, tell the wives and girlfriends its time for shopping in Milton Keynes! \nThecentre:mk is the large modern shopping centre of Milton Keynes. Middleton Hall is a 2\,500 sq ft exhibition space\, within thecentre:mk\, adjacent to the John Lewis store. \nCampaign Hosts: National League \nCampaign has taken place in this most unique venue since 2001. Our objective is to present our hobby to as many people as possible. Whilst existing wargamers benefit from the lack of any admission charge and the obvious on site attractions for partners or children\, the thousands of MK shoppers have free access to Campaign as they move about thecentre:mk. The centre management estimate an average footfall of 100\,000 people on Saturday and 50\,000 people on Sunday. Obviously not all of these people will pass through Middleton Hall\, or Campaign\, but the John Lewis store is very popular and Middleton Hall is situated at John Lewis’s main entrance. \nThe Show

SCENARIOS\nThe following scenarios will be played\, as described in the BA rulebook\, on table with terrain that has been pre-set by the organisers.\nGame 1: Hold Until Relieved.\nGame 2: Point Defence.\nGame 3: Maximum Attrition. \n6. TOURNAMENT POINTS (TP)\nVictory is calculated as described in the Scenarios being played and Tournament points are awarded for victories\, defeats and draws as shown below:\nResult Tournament Points\nVictory 3 TP\nDraw 1 PT\nLoss 0 TP \nIn addition\, players must also record how many requisition points of enemy units they destroy during their games. These destroyed enemies points (let’s call them ‘Casualty points’) are always added together in a running total and are used as a tiebreaker to pair players that are on the same level of Tournament points.\nFrom the second round\, players will be paired using a Swiss system (i.e. matching players on the same amount of TPs\, in descending order).\nIn case of more than two players on the same number of TPs\, players will be matched in descending ‘Casualty points’ total.\nIf they have the same TP and Casualty points total\, players will be paired in alphabetic order.\nWhen two players that have already met in a previous turn are matched to play each other again\, they must randomly select opponents from the players on the next table down. This rule does not apply on the top five tables during the last turn of the tournament. \n7. The 2014 show attracted over 1000 visitors and participants. \nThe show consists of a trade fair of around 50+ stands\, 25+ demonstration and participation games. We also have a good military modelling attendance along with various re-enactment groups \nYou will find a list of traders and demo games etc elsewhere on the site. These will be updated at regular intervals during the new year as late traders are confirmed\, and layout plans are finalised. \nAldersley Leisure Village is a modern venue which caters for numerous sports\, including\, football\, hockey\, athletics\, cycling and small bore rifle shooting. It was also a training facility for the 2012 Olympic Games. \nThe main hall is one of the largest in the Midlands allowing good access\, and ensuring a comfortable amount of room for all our visitors on a single level. Disabled access is excellent. There is a baby changing room for our very young visitors! \nParking is free. Hot drinks and snacks are available in the foyer. The licensed bar will also serve food from 11:00am. Please see your show day programme for up to date information on services available. \nWMMS: A Brief History  \nThe West Midland Military Modelling Show origins stretch back into the 1970s. Alumwell has been home to wargamers and modellers for considerable time. During the 1970s David Bickley and Phil Robinson steadily built the Show up into one of the Midlands most popular one-day events. From the mid-1980s to baton was passed to Paul Yates and David Jarman who continued to expand the show as its popularity grew. \nHowever Alumwell School was becoming more and more run down. Facilities were being withdrawn\, and the parking situation chronic. \nIt became evident that if the show was to continue\, a new venue must be found. \nAldersley Leisure Village in Wolverhampton looked a good prospect. A large modern venue with better than average facilities\, not too far from the motorway network. So it was with a deep breath that the 2005 Show moved to Aldersley. \nAfter a few years finding its feet\, the event is now firmly established as the biggest one day show in the West Midlands. Total attendance is now over the 1000 mark once again. We still have scope to expand and improve the show year on year. So hopefully 2014 will have new and more varied exhibits\, and more traders for you. \nNext years Show will be on Sunday 8th March 2015

Tanken bag turneringen er at se hvor mange danske bolt action spillere er interesseret i denne type turnering\, samt at samle miljøet på tværs af klubber og vante modstandere. Turneringen vil blive afviklet i en hyggelig og venskabelig ånd\, mens der dog er vid mulighed for at gå til stålet og bevise sine kommandoføringsevner.\nDer spilles 4 spil af 2 1/2 times varighed.\n1000 points\nMan tilmelder sig som allieret eller aksemagt. Man angiver en tidsperiode man ønsker at spille.\nTidlig = 39-43\nSen = 44-45\nMan bliver parret med modstandere af modsatte fraktion og sammetidsperiode. Man kan også angive om man er åben for begge tidsperioder. Forhåbentligt er der også spillere som er fleksible med hensyn til valg af nation så vi kan få det til at gå op i en højere enhed.\nForplejning!\nDer vil være frokost pause hvor der serveres smørrebrød med diverse drikkevarer.
