DESCRIPTION:Battle Day 2018 will be Paraetacene 317 BC\, the large Successor battle between the armies of Eumenes of Cardia and Antigonus One-Eye. So…pike\, heavy cavalry\, light cavalry\, elephants in a big battle on an open plain – what’s not to like here! Members are invited to come and run games\, or to just turn up and join in whichever games take their fancy – all the games welcome additional players on the day. We charge £10 per person to attend (juniors and students free) to go towards venue and table hire. \nAny questions about the day etc should be emailed to Richard Lockwood. \nWe will be fighting this\, not on the Iranian plateau\, but in the familiar confines of Sycamore Hall\, Drayton Road\, Bletchley\, Near Milton Keynes\, MK2 3RR. \nAnd rather than 317 BC\, we will be fighting it on Saturday 7 April 2018. Doors open at 8am for people to start setting up. Nominal start is 9am\, with the introductory talk set to start around 9:15am. Like most ancient battles though\, timings can slip somewhat once the enemy is sighted.

DESCRIPTION:  \n  \n  \nThe West Midland Military Show  \nThe WMMS is now in its 42nd year and is one of the largest one day shows in the midlands area\, attracting over 1000 visitors and participants. \nThe show consists of a trade fair of around 50+ stands\, 25+ demonstration and participation games. We also have a good military modelling attendance along with various re-enactment groups \nAldersley Leisure Village is a modern venue which caters for numerous sports\, including\, football\, hockey\, athletics\, cycling and small bore rifle shooting. It was also a training facility for the 2012 Olympic Games. \nThe main hall is one of the largest in the Midlands allowing good access\, and ensuring a comfortable amount of room for all our visitors on a single level. Disabled access is excellent. There is a baby changing room for our very young visitors! \nParking is free. Hot drinks and snacks are available in the foyer. The licensed bar will also serve food from 11:00am. Please see your show day programme for up to date information on services available. \n

To the aid or detriment of their partner! \nOfficers: In all our games\, officers do not give morale bonuses to units outside their platoon. \n“Free Unit” National Rules apply to the combined team. That means 2 British players may only take 1 free artillery observer per team. 1 free soviet squad etc. \nArmy lists must be formed using a generic reinforced platoon or theatre selector from appropriate supplement books.
