You will be able to play a full game or simply move a few miniatures\, roll some dice\, have a chat with the people running the game and then move onto the next. The show provides a great opportunity to try out new or familiar game systems and spend a day indulging yourself and friends in this absorbing and fascinating hobby. Whether you’re interested in Napoleonics\,\, WWI and WWII\, Ancients\, Medieval\, Fantasy or Science Fiction\, we are sure that you will find a selection of games you would like to play. \nThe Venue\nHammerhead 2016 is being held at the same great venue as in 2015 – The George Stephenson Exhibition Hall\, Newark Showground which offers a welcoming environment with plenty of natural light in which you can play games\, shop for wargame goodies from a selection of top traders positioned around the perimeter of the hall. The visitor participation games are all located in the central area of the exhibition hall. It has its own catering facilities\, which will be serving a variety of reasonably priced hot and cold food throughout the day.The car parking is plentiful\, free and Newark Showground is only a few minutes from the A1. A convention which should become a gathering point for local\, national and international collectors and wargamers. That is what we hope – at least. \nIt is our goal to support popular gaming systems by playing tournaments and demonstration games and promote new systems. \nFantasy and SciFi as well as historical gaming systems in all scales are welcome. \nMoreover we want to show the skills and the art of our beloved hobby by giving workshops and presentations a home. The best way to stay up to date with the latest news\, or to get in touch if you would like to run a game or book a trading stand for the day is on our Facebook page. \n\n\nVenue\n\n\nThe National Star College is a specialist education centre for children and young adults with physical and mental impairments.  Its facilities\, based on the estate of Ullenwood Manor in the edge of the Cotswold Hills\, are ideal for MiniCon\, being superbly accessible\, with plentiful parking\, ample room to expand as our event grows and facilities on site for refreshments.  Loading and unloading bays are limited\, however\, so exhibitors are encouraged to arrive early or to be prepared to move their products from the car park to the venue in the sports hall\, a five minute walk.

We are going to try and make it a fantastic event. Please PM me with any questions. \nMuGu GAMES BOLT ACTION EVENT PRIMER \n\nThis will be a three game event FYI if we have an uneven number of players you may receive a bye.\nThe point’s level will be 1250. Bolt Action season 2 rules (Here is the link http://www.wwpd.net/p/bolt-action.html ) will be in effect you may take one armored platoon and only one! Or you can take up to 2 reinforced platoons but you may not mix the two. You may also take a Glider platoon or a combat jump platoon but you may not mix it with an armored platoon. That said if you do take an armored platoon your infantry may combat jump or arrive by glider if you choose the appropriate troops.\n\nGeronimo rules can be found here http://www.warlordgames.com/rules-geron … lt-action/ \nThere will be one rule change to the glider rules the glider after it lands will be treated not as a soft skin transport that is immobilized but treated as soft cover. \n\nYou may play army lists out of the main rule book but you may not mix units from army books.\nPDF’s are welcome! Even if that faction has an army book available.\nThis event will be WYSIWYG WITH IN REASON (WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET) Meaning a model with a flamethrower or any weapon must be modeled so the guy/gal across the table will be able to identify it as such. Exceptions will be granted for certain models and vehicles bring them to the TO. The Idea is to make it so people can make good decisions during play but this is not meant to be crazy if you can make it so the guy/gal across from you can simply recognize what is what.\nYou must bring 3 copies of a legible army list your main rule book\, army book\, Bolt Action order dice\, Dice for game play\, tape measure\, tray for your army and something to mark units with pin markers. A Dice bag will be provided for each table.\nThe entry fee is 20$ with 5$ going to the purchase of terrain for future tourneys\nRounds will be two hours and fifteen minutes with a 15 minute pre-game to go over army lists and meet your opponent.\nAfter the first game there will be a 30 minute break for lunch!\n\nEvent set up \n1.Players will be divided into Axis and allied teams.\n2. Players on each team elect a General.\n3. The tables are pre-set to play a specific mission (IE like Hold until Relived or Demolition)\n4. Team Generals pick in secret what players on their teams they think would play the mission the best. So the General will find the best army to play Demolition or Heartbreak ridge.\n5. In later rounds the TO will assign players to tables with guiding principle each player plays a new opponent and plays on a different table.\n6 At the end of the day we add up the wins for each team and that side wins the day!\n7. Prizes for best Allied Best Axis and Best Minor will still be awarded.\n8. Theater Selectors are in play with one stipulation if you take a TS and you want to take two platoons the second platoon you take must be the same TS.\n9. Armored platoons are a go but you may only take one.\n10. Points value will be 1250 and we will be using the Bolt Action.net rules season 2 and we might switch to season 3 depending when it’s release is.

DESCRIPTION:This years event will be held at the LEASOWES LEISURE CENTRE\, Kent Road\, Halesowen\, B62 8PJ\, Sunday 6th December. \n \nWhat’s New? \nBeing an avid Star Wars fan I thought you would all appreciate a picture of the Star Wars participation game I put on at Alumwell show a while back\, I have staged the assault on Hoth game there a number of times\, in different scales\, and run a few assault on the Death star games at a few local shows\, I also dabbled with a Lord of the Rings game (Helms Deep) I love putting a smile on peoples faces\, and although I do not get the chance to put a game on at my own show\, there is enough there on the day\, by way of gamers and traders\, to do the job for me. So come along\, if you have a good time\, tell your friends\, if not come and tell me\, I will be running the bring and buy (best talk to me in the afternoon when it all calms down a bit). Have fun\, talk to lots of people. If you want to play one of my games\, I hope to stage the Battle of Naboo (Droids vs Gungans) at the Alumwell show\, next year.

Go on to the next major roundabout.  The Civic Hall is just off the Ring Road to the right off a major roundabout – on the old Leeds-Bradford Road. Landmark for that roundabout from the south is the Owlcoates Shopping Centre on your right ¼ mile before. There is also a slip road to Bradford to the left as you approach the roundabout. As you would expect of a show of this quality and magnitude\, the trade stands\, displays\, games and competitions are carefully integrated and laid out\, and complementary Show Guides with complete floor plans are issued on entry. \nCatering is fully laid on\, providing a range of hot and cold food\, hot and cold beverages\, and a bar. The Britcon entry fee also remains the same no matter how many games you choose to play\nThe return of the Britcon Fiver – we can’t technically guarantee it at this stage\, but if bookings reach our projected numbers we will again hope to be in a position to hand back £5 per player in the form of the very popular “£5 off any £10 purchase with any trader” deal we first introduced in 2013.\nSame better layout -after a very well received 2014 edition we are keeping the extra gaming room\, which will allow us to keep growing all of the existing periods including “Saga” and “Bolt Action” \, “40k” and introducing new Ancients period L’Art de la Guerre”\nRetaining the 5- or 6-game option – admittedly not many people dropped a game\, but those that did seemed to really appreciate it so we’ve retained options to drop either the the Friday or Saturday night’s game in the larger gaming periods\, and extended the principle to some of the others. You can confirm when you book how many rounds you are planning on playing in.\n“Drop a Score” returns – This seemed to produce more decisive games\, and a more relaxed atmosphere as well so in the periods where players are able to drop a round we will again be working out the winners on the basis of their best 5 scores out of 6.\nAccomodation still optional – We’ve negotiated some great rates at UMIST for a variety of standards of rooms – all still in stumbling distance of the venue and bar as usual\, but you are totally free to book and stay elsewhere if you wish – if you are prepared to walk 10 minutes we heard of hotels with rates as low as £17/night last year\, so look around. If you do want to stay onsite there will soon be a separate booking portal to book the UMIST rooms that you will be taken to once you confirm your Britcon entry.
