DESCRIPTION:About WAR TORN\nScarborough Wargames Club aka Da Orcs Lair is delighted to welcome you to War Torn\, our summer weekend charity event. \nIn 2011 we changed our supporting charity\, and are fund raising for Help for Heroes\, and will continue to do so over the next several years. We look forward to raising money for such a good cause. \nWeekend Schedule\nThroughout the weekend we are hosting several tournaments\, a painting competition\, and trade show\, show casing some of the finest models available in the UK. For more details on who is attending see ourtraders page. \nWe are also hosting a variety of visitor participation and demo games\, allowing you to try your hand at wargaming or get gaming with a system you love. More information on what clubs are coming and the games they are bringing can be found in thegames section. Anybody interested in competitive play should see our tournaments page for details on this years competitions. We have some great prizes and will be gladly dishing goodies in a raffle available over the course of the weekend. \nTime & Place\nWar Torn 2013 is scheduled for the 29 – 30 June in the Scarborough Spa Complex which is situated on the picturesque sea front. Doors open both days at 10 AM. We are situated over several rooms\, including the Grand Hall. \nA Licensed bar\, cafe and cash machine are on site. Nearby is Scarboroughs historic castle and the beautiful South Bay beach. DESCRIPTION:Campaign will once again take place in Middleton Hall at thecentre:mk. Thecentre:mk is the large modern shopping centre of Milton Keynes. Middleton Hall is a 2\,500 sq ft exhibition space\, within thecentre:mk\, adjacent to the John Lewis store. \nCampaign Hosts: National League \nCampaign has taken place in this most unique venue since 2001. Our objective is to present our hobby to as many people as possible. Whilst existing wargamers benefit from the lack of any admission charge and the obvious on site attractions for partners or children\, the thousands of MK shoppers have free access to Campaign as they move about thecentre:mk. The centre management estimate an average footfall of 100\,000 people on Saturday and 50\,000 people on Sunday. Obviously not all of these people will pass through Middleton Hall\, or Campaign\, but the John Lewis store is very popular and Middleton Hall is situated at John Lewis’s main entrance.

SUMMARY:Battle for Stalingrad!
DESCRIPTION:The Battle for Stalingrad is an immersive\, non competitive 2 day event which will see a total of 20 played scenarios chosen from Warlord Games’ Stalingrad and Case Blue campaign books. These Scenarios will involve steppe fighting before the siege of Stalingrad\, scenarios of the Soviet counteroffensive in the snowy\, frozen Winter of 43 and of course scenarios within the city where Germans and Soviets will fight for every inch on the game board. Iconic fights such as the Concrete Monolith and Pavlov’s house are among a long list of the many bloody battles that will be fought. \nFriuli War Games\, with this event\, is trying to organize a proper “Bolt Action Experience”. where players coming from all over Italy will feel immersed in these historic battles. The main goal if everyone to have as much fun as possible and to feel like they’re on the battle field with the (plastic) troops. With this mentality\, the group is looking to create a one of a kind event in Italy\, and to create a format which can be used for other campaigns in the future. We are working very hard to create the best quality tables and scenarios as possible\, to build a strong community for this more historical way of playing the beautiful game that is Bolt Action.  \nPictures and battle reports will follow the event…With Battle for Stalingrad we will be saying “goodbye V2 and welcome V3” as this event will be played using the V2 rules not having enough time to experiment with the new rules.
