SUMMARY:Bolt Action campaign Never Ending War.
DESCRIPTION:First mission brief\, building session and practice games were on Saturday 1st Sept. Come and join the battles every weekend throughout October!\n\n\n\nCampaign Background:\n\n\nD-Day\, Disaster-Day\nD-Day has failed! The Allies plan for the invasion of Normandy lies in tatters. The loss of men and material is staggering\, as is the blow to morale. The Axis powers were more prepared for the invasion than any planner could have expected. Massive troop and armour reinforcements at the Atlantic Wall\, perfectly executed U-boat and E-boat ambushes and pin point bombing by the Luftwaffe shattered the invasion. Many of the troops already landed on the beaches were cut off with no hope of retreat. Airborne units inland hoping for a quick link up with the invasion forces found themselves overwhelmed. Only the fact that so many of the airborne drops had been off target saved the lives of many of the troops and they were able to escape into the countryside with elements of the Maquis\, the French resistance. What began as an invasion ended as a desperate fighting withdrawal back to the British coast.\n\n\nIt was later ascertained that a single Allied officer\, thought dead following a surprise E-boat attack during exercise Tiger in Lyme Bay in April of 1944\, was in fact captured by the Germans. Tiger was a live fire training exercise for D-Day but was plagued with problems from the beginning. Ten officers\, all with high level security clearance and knowledge of the invasion plans were thought killed during the E-boat attack. The Allies expended a massive effort in recovering the bodies of these officers to ensure operational secrecy of operation Overlord was maintained. With all the bodies finally recovered the invasion preparations could continue. Unknown to the Allies one officer had survived and was picked up by the E-boat. In an eerie repetition of the Allies own operation Mincemeat\, the crew of the E-boat dressed one of their own casualties in the allied officer’s uniform. The body was then disfigured beyond all recognition using the engineer’s blowtorch\, leaving just enough of the uniform and papers intact for identification. With this done the body was dumped back into the sea to await recovery. Rushed to Berlin the officer was soon under the influence of scopolamine\, sodium pentothal and the persuasions of the interrogators of the SS. The Axis powers now had the intelligence needed to counter the Allied invasion plans.\nDesperate Times\, Desperate Measures\nWith defeat looming the allied high command had no choice but to implement a terrifying plan that they had hoped would never see the light of day. Now desperate for reinforcements in the European theatre the Allies had to draw forces from another war zone. But how to do this without handing another part of the world over to the Axis. A desperate plan was implemented that would have far reaching repercussions for those who made this ultimate deal with the devil as it became known. Since the very start of the war vast amounts of chemical weapons had been produced and stockpiled. At first this was as a last resort against the anticipated invasion of British Isles\, but as the war progressed the three main Allied powers expanded this operation and began devising a dark and sinister plan. Churchill\, Roosevelt and Stalin agreed to the activation of this plan almost immediately following word of the invasions failure. With the three main Allied powers working together in the utmost secrecy new and even deadlier chemical weapons had been developed\, many by accident\, during the chemical build up. Every plane that could fly was pressed into service; bombers\, fighters even civilian planes like some sick and twisted perversion of the Dunkirk assembly. Leaving many other theatres without air cover\, and in some areas immediately losing valuable ground to the Axis planes\, personnel and equipment were recalled for operation Scorched Earth.\nStalin himself suggested the site of the chemical bombing be his own country\, stating that the peasants and workers of the Soviet Union would once again bear the brunt of the casualties for the good of the world. A blanket bombing of the front lines of the whole eastern front was agreed upon\, finally giving Stalin his much sought-after buffer between himself and German forces. Never had so large a bombing campaign been mounted\, dwarfing anything that had gone before. The entire eastern front\, stretching for thousands of kilometres\, was to be systematically poisoned. Effectively destroying all life along the front and at the same time creating an impassable barrier into the Soviet Union\, freeing up millions of much needed troops for the Allies. Utilising excellent use of maskirovka\,Stalin\, ever the creative opportunist\, had begun replacing front line veteran regiments with penal battalions\, political prisoners and a host of other enemies\, both real and perceived. Seeing that he could quite literally kill many birds with one stone. Along with this troop movements massive canisters of gas were moved into position all along the eastern front\, seeding the area with even more potential death. Assisting the aerial elements of the operation massed batteries of artillery and Katyushas would also rain chemical death into the front lines.\nWith nearly every aerial asset in the Allied arsenal tasked with this mission the sky was filled with enough planes to blot out the sun\, and truly it was apt as Armageddon was unleashed. The bombing continued night and day as the massive area of land was saturated with obscene weapons. Chemical tanks were detonated all along the front as artillery rained down a continuous barrage of chemical death. Strong westerly winds helped spread the curtain of death well into the German lines destroying great swathes of army groups north\, centre and south. The death toll on both sides was beyond description\, nothing was spared soldier\, civilian\, animal and fauna were wiped from existence over a 3\,000-kilometre front. As the myriad of chemicals used mixed\, new and unexpected toxins were released. Solid steel tanks dissolved as easily as ice cubes under a hot sun. The land for many miles either side of the front line became impenetrable by land\, sea or air due to the chemical morass and would remain this way for an unknown amount of years. If the land was to ever recover it would not be in the lifetimes of those who caused it and possibly not even in their children’s lifetimes.\nRedeployment\, Resumption\nFollowing the losses during D-Day and operation Scorched Earth to both the Axis and Allies\, fresh troop reinforcement was essential for both sides. The map of the war had changed dramatically and for a short time the war seemed to pause\, perhaps to catch its breath or perhaps in horror at the devastation wrought in its name. What ever the reason forces all around the globe were able to redeploy to better prepare for the changing face of the war. In a reversal of previous events convoys of ships filled with Soviet soldiers left Arkhangelsk and Murmansk bound for the UK where they were further deployed to a variety of theatres around the world. Reserves of fresh US troops began the arduous journey across the Atlantic to bolster the depleted forces in Europe and Africa. An attempted coup in Italy set the country afire. A civil war erupted for a short while\, with many Italian army and air force elements re-joining their old Axis partners once again\, somewhat boosting Mussolini’s ailing Italian Social Republic in Northern Italy. Wishing to avoid a similar fate as the German eastern front forces\, the Japanese cancelled their plans for any invasion of the Siberia. Seeing their own bacteriological weapons created by Detachment 731 to be of no match to the Allies ability\, instead they began massive troop movements to Europe and Africa at the behest of the German high command.\nNew battle lines were drawn as the world prepared for the continuation of the war. Dark pacts and alliances of desperation had saved both sides from defeat. But what repercussions they would have in an unclear future was unknown to all. Would the ending of the war see the world saved or destroyed?\n\n\n\n\n\nhouse rules\nSO for those of you that missed the mission brief here is a quick overview.\n\n\nBuildings: Abstract rules will stand but before each game players can agree to use the standard movement\, shooting\, melee rules etc if they both agree. We took this decision as we may not always be using the accessible interior 4ground models for scenery\, this seemed the fairest option.\nThere are no compulsory games\, you can play who you want when you want.\nIf you play someone who is on your side in the campaign it is deemed a training exercise before an actual operation. You still record details for the Sniper Challenge and Leadership Challenge but you do not count victory points towards overhaul campaign results.\nIf you are playing an enemy then you again record info for the challenges and victory points count towards the campaign outcome.\nThere will be some specific games that will need to be played and the points values of those games can be split between any number of players from each side.\nThe outcome of certain scenarios will also have an effect in future games so please be sure to inform me of your scenario played along with victory points and all relevant date for the mission.\nThere will also be some surprise missions thrown out there that request certain units or armies so be prepared to be fighting some unusual missions when your country calls!\n\n\nIf you have any questions please let me know.\nCry havoc and let slip the dogs of war!!!!!\n\n\n\n\n\nAchieve the Challenge & Win the prize!\n\nSniper challenge! For the duration of the Never Ending War Campaign\, we will be looking for the most amazing sniper kill shot with appropriate trophies for the top 3. Record all your sniper shots\, distance and target value of kills from your games and we will collate the results and see who is the deadliest sniper at the end of the campaign. All sniper shots results must be confirmed by your opponent before submission.\n\nLeadership Challenge! Our 2nd challenge of the campaign. Who has the most inspirational General? DESCRIPTION:Payment: the tournament will have a cost of € 10 that can be paid in the store\, by Paypal to pfquimera@gmail.com or by bank transfer that can be requested to that same mail\, at most on September 5.\n\nList: the list will consist of an army of up to 750 points using the rule selection shown on page 152 of the regulation\, with the exception that no vehicle can be used with the exception of transports or trailers. And in that case\, you can not pay any option that removes them from that feature.\n\nAny book in force can be used to organize the list\, including the basic one.\nThere is a deadline to send the list until September 5 to this email\, indicating the full name and book where the list was taken from.\n\nRounds: three rounds of up to two hours will be played. In the first round the match will be by chance and in the next two will be by the Swiss system\, avoiding clashes with participants who have already played.\n\nFor winning a game\, 3 Victory Points (VP) will be awarded\, for drawing 1 VP and for losing 0 VP. In addition\, it will be necessary to count the points that each player has destroyed (Army Points – PE) and those that have been destroyed and that difference will be used to break the tie (can be negative).\nThe mission to play in each round will be random\, not repeated in any other round\, of those that come in the basic book.\n\nThe table to be played will be arranged by the organization and the participants will not be asked to repeat a table during the tournament\, although this may not be possible in the last round.\nIn case the participants are odd a “bye” will be given and said random participant in each round will obtain a victory with a margin of PE of 250 points.\n\nMaterial: Players must bring their own miniatures\, as well as subway\, dice\, templates\, command dice (as many as units have on the list) and a copy of their list to show the opponent.

DESCRIPTION:Once a year 3city40k host an event which is a countrywide event – this year it will be hosted in Rumia “Stacja Kultura” (Culture Station – best in the world library in 2015). And this year they’ll aim big! Last year we got only 12 participants and we have decided that this year we must aim for more. In September 2017 we slowly started preparing for this years September event – and we called it Road to Berlin. \nAnd for Berlin – I have decided that we should have Reichstag building – its iconic for Berlin fights and we did not hear about any Bolt Action scale model of it. \nSo after 3 months of construction – surpassing my imagined size here it is – most probably ever first Reichstag in 1:56 scale!

In this tournament\, only lists coming from theater selectors between 1939-1941 or before these\, that is to say\, “Early war”\, will be valid. With the exception that they can be used lists that begin in those years and end later\, but in no case may material or units manufactured or created after 1941 be used.\n\n\n\n5. Requirements and general rules of the tournament:\n\nto. The second edition of the Bolt Action regulation will be used.\n\nb. The miniatures may be from any manufacturer as long as they are from the period.\n\nc. The army must be completely painted with a minimum of 3 colors.\n\nd. All the team of the miniatures must be properly represented as much as possible.\n\nand. Each participant must bring six-sided dice\, sufficient order dice\, a tape measure\, markers\, the books necessary for the correct performance of the game\, a copy of his list to be able to show his rival and a Smartphone with its corresponding charger and the application. “Chess Clock” (Net Lumen\, LLC) installed.\n\n\n\nF. The time available for players in each game will be limited to 50 minutes each. This will be controlled by the application of chess clock referred to above. The mechanics of time control will be explained at the start of the tournament.\n\ng. In case of discrepancy of the rules during the game\, the referee should be consulted\, who will have the last word regarding the application of the rule discussed.\n\n6. Development of the tournament:\n\nto. The tables will have a size of 1.80×1.20 meters and will be equipped with scenography provided by the organization. In no case may the scenery be changed by any player. The effect of each element of scenography will be described in the scenario card present in each table.\n\nb. DESCRIPTION:Can you help the Allies close the Falaise Gap on the Axis powers? This will be based off a late war timeline but all theaters of war are welcome! Dust off your models and come compete to see who is the most successful general!!! \nOnly 40 spots for this tournament so RSVP your spot while you can for 25$ which will cover lunch and prize support! \nWe ask that everyone arrive around 10:30 am so that we can take pictures of the armies and we will start at 11 am sharp! We will take a break for lunch after round 1 and pizza will be provided! \nEveryone that attends will receive a prize. We will also be giving prizes for 1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd place as well as best painted and a raffle. Everyone that attends will receive one free raffle entry\, more raffle entries can be purchased at the event for 5$ a ticket and all proceeds from the raffle will be donated to the Hagerstown Air Museum.  \nYou may run any list out of any theatre book\, armored platoons\, and reinforced platoons. Early registration goes from now until July 4th 2017….. All those that pre register will receive a special grab bag and an entry into a separate raffle. All lists for the tournament must be sent to dave@yourhobbyplace.com no later than 1 week before the event. Tournament missions will be released week of the tournament. Tournament will be a 3 round tournament 2 1/2 hours per round of play. Extra points will be given for having painted armies and sportsmanship. The school has built a new toilet for wheelchair users next to the main hall so no more having to struggle with the staff facilities. Things are just getting better. \nDevizes School is conveniently located near to the town centre. There are cash machines\, public houses and shops just a short walk from the school and there is also the benefit of free on-site parking (available on a first come basis).
