As ever we like to keep our tournament as a competitive but friendly event to ensure a fun day out for all levels of experience. As such we ask all players to observe a level of sportsmanship\, fair play and Gentlemanly conduct towards their opponents. \nArmies: \nBuild a 1000pt list\, this year we are restricting it to 1 Reinforced Platoon. There are no Tank Platoons allowed in this event. \nWe would like to ensure that Shrapnel is enjoyed by all players\, therefore we would like the Armies selected to follow a theme or be historically correct for the year. To do this either use your army book and choose those units that were available to your chosen nation\, or use a particular theatre selector. Your army book gives dates and theatre selectors which will give you a list of those units available. \nYou can also use campaign books to select your forces\, however there are some dodgy lists in these\, for example the Soviet Stalingrad\, and some Japanese selectors come to mind\, 4 snipers or 4 heavy howitzers is not very friendly. We all like to win\, but when you have made your list ask yourself would I like to play against this army. Just because you can\, doesn?t mean you should. \nMarket Garden: \nIf you wish to bring a British Para list from Market Garden\, all units selected must be brought as veterans where the option exists. You must also add 1 pt per model to make them stubborn. \nXXX Corp is a Tank Platoon for the purposes of this event. \nOdds n Sods: \nBrandenburgers must be off the table for their redirection rules to apply. \nIn the worse case scenario the Tournament Organiser has the right to ask you to change your list to fit the ethos of our guidelines. \nYou must bring your army book and any book\, or a hard copy of an official Warlord games pdf. where your theatre list is included\, this allows your opponent to be able to read any special rules that apply. \nArmy list where possible should be made on http://boltaction.easyarmy.com/ it helps with the checking. However its not 100% correct so please check it against your army book\, or theatre selector. \nPlease feel free to contact Ken on the below email to discuss your army list. \nPlease email your list to Kennomeat@gmail.com by the 12th May. \nGames: \nThere will be 3 games of 2 hours 15 mins\, the scenarios to be used will be disclosed on the day of the event\, so choose you armies carefully. These are likely to be from the 2nd edition rule book but with minor tweaks. \nItalians: \nThis army usually plays without access to the majority of its national rules\, therefore in this tournament at the beginning of any game where the scenario does not have an attacker/defender both players will roll to see if they are either attacking or defending. Roll a d6 highest roll gets to choose. If the Italian player loses they get to re roll as per Italian national rule. \nHow to win: \nBattle points will be awarded for a win\, draw\, and loss. Win = 5pts\, draw = 3pts\, loss = 1pt. \nSecondary objectives: In every game there will be an option to grab another battle point\, make sure you keep it in your sights. \nIn the event of more than 1 player having the highest number of Battle Points\, the difference between units killed and units lost will be the deciding factor. \nTerrain: \nAll tables will be pre-set on the day\, please do not move any of the terrain. Ruins will be classed as dense terrain as described in the rule book. As there is always a mix of hedges and walls which causes confusion over cover\, treat all such pieces as being chest high on an upright model. This should also help with cover claimed by vehicles. \nCover: \nMany people are hazy on what cover you get from certain classes of terrain and when it applies. Two main ones are firing in\, from\, or into cover\, and what happens when you are up against cover. In the first instance cover will apply if you are more than 1 inch apart from your target\, or are more than 1 inch from the edge of the terrain and firing out. In the second case if both units are up against a wall neither will get cover. This is the same for buildings as it can be assumed grenades and bullets are being launched in through windows and doors\, defenders will get the +1 to the roll required to kill still. \nIn all other cases discuss what each piece of terrain does at the beginning of the game. \nExceptional Damage: \nAs with other years we will be modifying the exceptional damage rule when it comes to team weapons. This means that only casualties will be applied\, the weapon will not be considered damaged and removed from play. \nIf you are unable to attend then please let us know as early as possible in order to allocate your place to somebody on the reserve list. \nSpectators are more than welcome to attend and view proceedings but please be aware that this a timed round Tournament and respect the concentration of the players. \nRegistration: 09.00 \nBriefing: 09.15 \n1st Game: 09.30 – 11.45 \nLunch: 12.00 – 12.30 \n2nd Game: 12.45 – 15.00 \n3rd Game: 15.15 – 17.30 \nPresentations: 18.00 \nPurchase of a ticket reserves you a place\, no physical ticket will be sent out. \nThere are 24 available spaces. DESCRIPTION:Holywell School\nMK43 0JA Milton Keynes \nThe First of the years BHGS events. \nRollcall Bolt Action is back again for the 6th Year running\nTickets available from the link below \nhttp://www.bhgs.org.uk/bolt-action-at-roll-call.html \nAll tables will have a mission set out for that table as per the feedback from BHGS entries from last year\, these missions will be taken from any of the books (main rule book- each table will have a mission card on them to explain the mission) and use the mission rules that are set for them. So choose your army wisely. \nFor this event\, we’d like to make sure that forces\, so far as possible\, represent ones that are as plausible as possible for a game that has WWII as its theme. While imperfect\, this will help to mitigate the impact of some of the more problematic units in the game without resorting to house rules or ‘comping’.  \nWe’d really encourage players to go ‘as themed as possible’\, and if you want to do a specific unit at a specific time and place (a reinforced platoon from Johnny Frost’s Bn at Arnhem\, for instance\, or maybe a Panzer Zug from the 21st Panzer Division in 1941\, or whatever) then crack on and we’ll be suitably impressed (and there might be a prize for ‘Best Force’ or similar in the mix to reward that). But if all you want is a force that looks right for the time and place for your chosen nation\, that’s fantastic too. \nWe’ve found that the overwhelming majority of forces fit into this structure with little or no tweaking. \nIf time’s limited or historical research isn’t your strong suit then the guidelines are designed to help you and the event organisers will be very happy to offer any assistance they can if desired – remember this is aimed at improving everyone’s enjoyment\, it’s not meant to be a chore. \nHow to pick your force for this event:\n•	750 points Infantry only (maximum amour value 6)\n•	1250 points.\n•	No more than the set amount of points may be spent on the army as per the guidelines provided on page 124 of the Bolt action rulebook.\n•	Pick a nation from any of the countries currently represented in Warlord Games publications (including pdfs)\n•	Pick a front from: Balkan\, Eastern\, Italian\, North African\, Northern China\, North-west European\, Pacific\, SE Asian\, the list goes on obviously this must be a front where your chosen nation fought\n•	Pick a year (again\, obviously\, a year where your chosen nation was actually fighting on your chosen front.\n•	Build your force to the prescribed points total using your chosen nation with either the generic selector or a theatre selector or pdf ‘force’ selector that covers your chosen year. But you may only use options that actually were present in your chosen year on your chosen front. This isn’ t as hard as it might seem at first; the theatre selectors give a good guide and most of the vehicles have a range of years in which they saw service. Your event organiser will be happy to provide assistance and advice if you’re in any doubt.\n•	No special characters or tank wars skills allowed. \nExample 1\n•	 Chosen Nation: Germany (this restricts the player to Eastern\, Balkan\, Italian\, North African and North-west Europe).\n•	 Chosen Front: North African (this means the player will be taking an Afrika Korps list so ideally his army will be modelled and painted in that style. It also restricts the years to 1941\, 1942 or 1943)\n•	 Chosen Year: 1942 (this impacts on the specific units available. the Rommel’s Defeat theatre selector will provide a good starting point for options).\nExample 2 \n•	 Chosen Nation: Great Britain (allowing all front options except Northern China – remembering the Australians fought in the Pacific and are covered by the GB book and Eastern)\n•	 Chosen Front: SE Asian (allowing all years from late 1941 to 1945)\n•	 Chosen Year: 1944 (the Burma theatre selector is a good starting point for unit choices but as not all of these units fought in SE Asia\, the event organiser might give feedback if inappropriate one’s creep to the list. DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Wargames Workshop Northampton \nSunday\, 14 April 2019 from 11:00-16:00 \n  \nThe sentries report Zulus to the South West. Thousands of them. \nOn 22nd and 23rd January 1879 a force of around 150 British and Colonial troops successfully defended the mission station at Rorke’s Drift from attack by a force estimated at between 3000-4000 Zulu warriors. \nCome and help defend a stretch of the barricades or try to break through them. All miniatures will be provided on the day (unless you want to bring some of your own) and folks will be on hand to show you how the game works if you’ve never played it before. \nWhy us\, Sarge?\nBecause we’re ‘ere lad. DESCRIPTION:View in Store \n  \nTHE INTERFACE WARS\nThe reappearance of the Dronescourge is causing chaos on Antares. Their scavenging is spreading south: no longer are the Virai a problem confined to the interface between the PanHuman Concord and the Isorian Senatex. Now their depredations threaten the Algoryn Prosperate and the wider Determinate. \nAnd now the Ghar have intervened\, using the Virai to spread destruction amongst their human foes. The Virai have no master plan; they are merely following the line of least resistance. They do not care that the Ghar are deliberately sacrificing older vessels as carriers to spread the Dronescourge into more panhuman systems. And neither do the Virai care that the Ghar then send in their armies to purge the weakened planets of panhumanity. But the Ghar have found the Virai are harder to control than they realised. \nAll along the Determinate interfaces\, panhumanity is fighting for survival against the Ghar\, the Virai\, and frequently other factions in the same straits as themselves. \nThe Interface Wars have begun; only you can decide who wins. \nFACTION LEAGUE GAMES DAY\nWarlord Games HQ\, Lenton Boulevard\, Nottingham\, UK\nNG7 2BD (access via stairs only) \nA themed Antares Faction tournament in which the most successful faction wins the day. A variety of scenarios and only two army lists of 750 and 1250 points. Prior to the event\, each player will be told the scenarios and will have to choose their lists. But no one will know the three scenarios in which they will play\, so careful choice of lists is key! \nRegistration opens from 09:00 and prizegiving for best player\, best-painted army and painting competition at 18:00. \nThere will be a chance to buy Antares mugs in the shop\, attendees can also purchase Antares Event polo shirts. \nWarlord staff will be on hand to talk Antares and game designer Mr Rick Priestley will be around to talk to – be careful of his tactical advice! \nPlayers are advised to bring their own food and drink but there are shops nearby.

Probably one of the most active players in the British event scene and further abroad. So far his calendar has 21 tournaments\, home and abroad and six wargames shows pencilled in with more to follow. This year will see him attending the Las Vegas Open\, Adepticon and Nova in the USA as well as organising the BA World Team Championships in Poland. He will once again be helping Chris Brown\, the author of the Market Garden campaign book\, organise the annual Arnhem Both Action event over the Arnhem Remembrance weekend in September in the Netherlands. \nWhilst loving the cut and thrust of one on one competition\, podiumed at both LVO and Adepticon last year and several UK tournaments\, Paul really loves just playing and encouraging new players. He is often quoted as saying he will play “anyone\, anywhere\, anytime with anything”. Indeed this year his Youtube and podcast followers suggested he plays with a more ‘difficult’ army to win with and they voted that he starts this year off with a Dutch 1940\, “Battle of the Netherlands” list. The army sees their first outing with Paul at the”Guns over the River Blyth” event and they will be on the road to the LVO this year and Adepticon and possibly a wee appearance at the BA event “A Cam Bridge too Far”.
