DESCRIPTION:Shrapnel 2018 Tournament Guidelines. \nSunday 13th May\, 9.00AM \nWelcome to the second year of Shrapnel\, it has grown this year to 22 players\, so thank you for signing up. Lost Ark Landsers Bolt Action group are a friendly bunch of people and new players are always made welcome. \nArmies \nBuild a 1000pt list using either 1 or 2 Reinforced Platoons. There are no Tank Platoons in this event. \nWe would like to ensure that Shrapnel is enjoyed by all players\, therefore we would like the Armies selected to follow a theme or be historically correct for the year. To do this either use your army book and choose those units that were available to your chosen nation\, or use a particular theatre selector. Your army book gives dates and theatre selectors which will give you a list of those units available. \nYou can also use campaign books to select your forces\, however there are some dodgy lists in these\, for example the Soviet Stalingrad\, and some Japanese selectors come to mind\, 4 snipers or 4 heavy howitzers is not very friendly. We all like to win\, but when you have made your list ask your self would I like to play against this army. Just because you can\, doesn?t mean you should. \nMarket Garden: \nIf you wish to bring a British Para list from Market Garden\, all units selected must be brought as veterans where the option exists. You must also add 1 pt per model to make them stubborn. \nXXX Corp is a Tank Platoon for the purposes of this event. \nOdds n sods \nBrandenburgers must be off the table for their redirection rules to apply. \nIn the worse case scenario the Tournament Organiser has the right to ask you to change your list to fit the ethos of the Stevenage Landsers. \nYou must bring your army book and any book\, or a hard copy of an official Warlord games pdf. where your theatre list is included\, this allows your opponent to be able to read any special rules that apply. \nArmy list where possible should be made on http://boltaction.easyarmy.com/ it helps with the checking. However its not 100% correct so please check it against your army book\, or theatre selector. \nPlease feel free to contact Ken on the below email to discuss your army list. \nPlease email your list to Kennomeat@gmail.com by the 23rd April \nGames \nThere will be 3 games of 2 hours 15 mins\, the scenarios to be used will be disclosed on the day of the event\, so choose you armies carefully. These are likely to be from the 2nd rule book but with minor tweaks. \nItalians \nThis army usually plays without access to the majority of its national rules\, therefore in this tournament at the beginning of any game where the scenario does not have an attacker/defender both players will roll to see if they are either attacking or defending. Roll a d6 highest roll gets to choose. If the Italian player loses they get to re roll as per Italian national rule. \nHow to win \nBattle points will be awarded for a win\, draw\, and loss. Win = 5pts\, draw = 3pts\, loss = 1pt. \nSecondary objectives: In every game there will be an option to grab another battle point\, make sure you keep it in your sights. \nIn the event of more than 1 player having the highest number of Battle Points\, the difference between units killed and units lost will be the deciding factor. \nTerrain \nAll tables will be pre-set on the day\, please do not move any of the terrain. Ruins will be classed as dense terrain as described in the rule book. As there is always a mix of hedges and walls which causes confusion over cover\, treat all such pieces as being chest high on an upright model. This should also help with cover claimed by vehicles. Bocage is slightly different and is over head height\, it blocks line of sight until 1? away. \nCover \nMany people are hazy on what cover you get from certain classes of terrain and when it applies. Two main ones are firing in\, from\, or into cover\, and what happens when you are up against cover. In the first instance cover will apply if you are more than 1 inch apart from your target\, or are more than 1 inch from the edge of the terrain and firing out. In the second case if both units are up against a wall neither will get cover. This is the same for buildings as it can be assumed grenades and bullets are being launched in through windows and doors\, defenders will get the +1 to the roll required to kill still. \nIn all other cases discuss what each piece of terrain does at the beginning of the game. \nIf you are unable to attend then please let us know as early as possible in order to allocate your place to somebody on the reserve list. \nSpectators are more than welcome to attend and view proceedings but please be aware that this a timed round Tournament and respect the concentration of the players. \nRegistration: 09.00 \nBriefing: 09.15 \n1st Game: 09.30 – 11.45 \nLunch: 12.00 – 12.30 \n2nd Game: 12.45 – 15.00 \n3rd Game: 15.15 – 17.30 \nPresentations: 18.00 \nPurchase of a ticket reserves you a place\, no physical ticket will be sent out. \nThis event is currently sold out. DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, May 5th\, Off The Wall games will be hosting a Bolt Action tournament in Hadley\, MA to wrap up their first Bolt Action Escalation League. Registration begins at 11 am\, and dice hit the table promptly at 12 pm. Please have your 1000 point lists (if you played in the league\, it must be for the nation you played) completed and written out to be reviewed during registration. It is preferable that they be created in Easy Army or Army Builder. List may be submitted to the store Sarge (Brian Alter) either in person or via email at bigsquishybrain@gmail.com. Please use the subject Line:  May Bolt Action Tournament List \nThe tournament will consist of 3 rounds\, with a break between rounds 1 and 2 for lunch. Entry is $15.00. Prizes will be offered for 1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd place\, as well as for best painted. The entry fee includes $5 per person for pizza\, and the remainder will go to prize support. \nEscalation League players will be given tokens to be redeemed for rerolls based on their accumulated points during the league. The League raffle will also be drawn on tournament day. If you cannot be present for the raffle\, please advise the store Sarge\, and tickets will be entered on your behalf.

I will release a proper rules pack nearer the time with scenario rules\, but for now here is what you need to know. \nThis will be a 1\,000 point event over 3 games using the standard Faction Army lists (So no Vector formations etc…) Tournament Points will be awarded for the following:  \nMajor Win – 4 points\nMinor Win – 3 points\nDraw – 2 points\nMinor Loss – 1 point \nAn additional Tournament point will also be awarded for a prompt submission of your Army list and another for fully painted forces\, so take the opportunity to get painting your dudes and thinking about what you’ll be taking. I will publish the email address for army list submissions nearer the time.  \nPrize support is being provided by the lovely chaps at Warlord Games (Thanks Karl!) There will be prizes for 1st\, 2nd and 3rd place\, together with Most Sporting and the Best painted army as voted for by the players. Rumours of a humiliating Booby prize for last place are completely unfounded and should be ignored. \nThe event is being held at the Southampton Sluggaz club. These missions will be taken from any of the books (main rule book\, plus the additional mission at the end of this pack) and use the mission rules that are set for them. So choose your army wisely. \nFor this event we’d like to make sure that forces\, so far as possible\, represent ones that are as plausible as possible for a game that has WWII as its theme. While imperfect\, this will help to mitigate the impact of some of the more problematic units in the game without resorting to house rules or ‘comping’. \nWe’d really encourage players to go ‘as themed as possible’\, and if you want to do a specific unit at a specific time and place (a reinforced platoon from Johnny Frost’s Bn at Arnhem\, for instance\, or maybe a Panzer Zug from the 21st Panzer Division in 1941\, or whatever) then crack on and we’ll be suitably impressed (and there might be a prize for ‘Best Force’ or similar in the mix to reward that). But if all you want is a force that looks right for the time and place for your chosen nation\, that’s fantastic too. \nWe’ve found that the overwhelming majority of forces fit into this structure with little or no tweaking. If time’s limited or historical research isn’t your strong suit then the guidelines are designed to help you and the event organisers will be very happy to offer any assistance they can if desired – remember this is aimed at improving everyone’s enjoyment\, it’s not meant to be a chore.

DESCRIPTION:Leeds Night Owls will be running an escalation club tournament on Sunday 25 June 2017\, check out the Operation NACHTEULE page left \nOperation NACHTEULE is an open Bolt Action escalation tournament being hosted by the Leeds Night Owls within The Cardigan Centre on Sunday 25 June 2017. \nPlayers will start with a single reinforced platoon at 500 points and then add an additional 250 points for the next two games thus making 750 point and 1000 point lists. \nInformation on the forces and the rules being used can be found in the tournament pack which is available to download in the download section of the Leeds Night Owls web site: \nhttps://www.leedsnightowls.co.uk/operation-nachteule/ \nThe entry fee for this tournament is £15 and includes lunch\, tea & coffee’s \nThere is free parking on site.
