DESCRIPTION:Open Play event is a standard tournament style but follows exactly the same premise as Assemble the men\, style\, theme\, everything\, although the game modes this time will be a play test for our big narrative weekend in September. \nI myself am a seasoned veteran of several high-profile tournaments and events\, both as a player and as a TO\, for example I used to co-run the event at Warfare until it changed hands last year\, and run multiple a year for many game systems\, and have attended several GTs at warlord HQ and am even the winner of 75th D-day Anniversary even you held as well as Cambridge Too Far a while back\, so I have plenty of experience and Bolt Action isn’t the only game I run events for\, and have always received lots of positive feedback and praise.

SUMMARY:V3 Bolt Action Tournament – Europe 1943
DESCRIPTION:To fight for prizes\, promote the game and venue\, and to\nhave FUN! The event is loosely themed from JAN 1942 to AUG 1943 and based in Europe\n(no Pacific theme this time). The Americans land in Morocco to aid the beleaguered British.\nRommel and his Italian allies are on the retreat after fighting on the Mareth Line; which side\ndo the Commanders plan to fight on? In Italy the Allies are preparing to invade Sicily and to\nadvance upon Italy\, and in Russia the Axis are advancing to Prokhorovka; which of these\nforces will the Commanders choose to help to turn the tide of stalemate?\nThere will be up to 9 tables for the 18 Commanders to battle on that will cover\ngeography from North Africa\, Sicily\, & the steppes of Russia. Commanders will have to fight\nin cities\, railyards\, grassy steppes with clumpy vegetation and farmhouses\, and barren\,\ndesert\, rocky outcrops. Which table each commander fights on will be unknown so it will\ncause them to be judicious on the Task Force they create. Additional victory points are\nawarded for creating a platoon/company based (loosely) on a real unit that fought in the\nabove theaters at the time mentioned (encouragement for players to study history and then\ntry to re-enact it as well as paying homage to those veterans). Finally\, each Commander is\nallowed to purchase minefields and/or a veteran tank crewman (Tank War concept) if they\ndesire to add additional reality or flexibility to their company.\nThe venue and other sponsors donate funds for prize support to encourage\nmaximum attendance and FUN!! At least half the prize support is purchased from Warlord\nGames. On average\, about $350.00 worth of prize support is gifted then awarded to the\nparticipants.

This is a follow-up to a recent demo event we ran early in June to show prospective players how the basics of Bolt Action work. It was a great success and we had several new players purchase Bolt Action product immediately after we concluded the demo. \nWith a new and growing community we have decided to seize the opportunity to get everyone to form a solid foundation for their new armies and encourage a healthy competitive spirit with a simple 500 point tournament that can be easily approached by anyone who just got in or is coming back to Bolt Action after the update to third edition.

DESCRIPTION:The big narrative event that allows players to control the bonuses and the narrative through scoring as a team and earning bonuses and negative effects by capturing or destroying bridges while playing their respective scenarios. \nEvery board will have a bridge midway up the board that can be captured or destroyed earning them bonus points personally and team effects\, each bridge can also be destroyed and repaired with the state of the bridge carrying over into the next round with the new players potentially getting hindered or helped by the players before them. \nI myself am a seasoned veteran of several high-profile tournaments and events\, both as a player and as a TO\, for example I used to co-run the event at Warfare until it changed hands last year\, and run multiple a year for many game systems\, and have attended several GTs at warlord HQ and am even the winner of 75th D-day Anniversary even you held as well as Cambridge Too Far a while back\, so I have plenty of experience and Bolt Action isn’t the only game I run events for\, and have always received lots of positive feedback and praise.

SUMMARY:Battle for Hurtgen Forest 25
DESCRIPTION:This is themed 1\,150 points Bolt Action tournament of 3 rounds based on the Battle for the Hurtgen\nForest with Axis versus Allies. This event is unique in that the tabletop terrain is based on the Hurtgen\nForest area with dense forest. In addition\, the two towns of Schmidt and Kommerscheidt will also be\nrecreated on separate tables. There are a number of special rules in which army lists with engineers\nwill have an advantage. The rules involve clearing paths through forest\, preventing vehicles from\nslipping off roads\, and clearing unexploded bombs. While games will be arranged for Axis verses Allies\nthe prizes for 1 st \, 2 nd and 3 rd will be based on the accumulated Victory Points of players regardless of\ntheir faction.\nThe cost is $35 entry fee for the tournament. Registration and list submission should be completed by\n10 th September.
