SUMMARY:Grognards Bolt Action Demo Day
DESCRIPTION:Greetings and welcome to our Grognards Bolt Action Demo Day! We’ll be hosting a day full\nof introductory demos and skirmish games for both new and returning players alike\, all to get an\nunderstanding of the new 3rd edition and form a community of like-minded players excited to\nget out and play one of the most approachable WW2 miniature games out there! Demo tables\nfor quick introductory games to the rules as well as entire skirmish-sized forces if you want to\ngive full games a try will be available for newcomers to use\, so don’t fret if you don’t have any\nmodels or game knowledge yet – this day is here to show you the ropes and get you aboard!\n–\n– For the demo portion of the day we’ll have people on hand to give you an introduction to\nthe basic game mechanics and concepts over a small infantry engagement. Concepts like orders\,\nmovement\, attacking\, and pinning – all core parts of the game that you’ll be shown in an easy to\nlearn way!\n–\n– For the core of the day we’ll be having sets of paired learning skirmish games where you can\nlearn and familiarize yourself with more game rules like weapon teams and vehicles\, and go\ndeeper into the nuances of the rules introduced in the demos. Plus we’ll have some fun\nachievements you can strive for during the event itself for your shot at prizes!\n– \n–  If you already have a force built this’ll be a great way to get some games in and learn the new\nedition while meeting like minded locals for future games\, but if you don’t have any models or\nfamiliarity with the game yet we will have skirmish forces on hand you’ll be able to use to learn\nand play! You can even join the event after trying the demos if you find yourself liking it (so long\nas we haven’t run out of armies yet!)\n–\n– The Structure of the Skirmish Games is as follows:\n– The day starts at 11am\, you’ll be paired into an opponent as soon as someone is available! We’ll\ngo until around 7:30 PM\, give or take a bit to let people finish out their games.\n– Game size is 500pts\, you need to have a Rifle Platoon in your force\, and you may bring an\nArmoured Platoon so long as it doesn’t contain vehicles rated as heavy or super heavy tanks.\n– During the course of your games you can achieve the following for raffle tickets which we’ll use\nto distribute prize support at the end of the day:\n– Getting Started – Play a game\n– Having a Blast – Play two games\, and an additional ticket for each game played from then on\n– Born Survivor – Have your rifle Platoon Commander survive 2 games\n– We’ll See Ourselves Out – Have a unit Rout\n– Headhunter – Destroy 2 Platoon Commanders\n– To the Victor\, the Spoils – Win a game\n– Only a Temporary Setback – Lose a game
