Results directly affect the evolving campaign narrative\, shaping later missions\, tatical and strategic options for both teams. Players are not just competing for individual victories but contributing to a wider operational outcome alongside their teammates. SUMMARY:Hull & East Riding Wargames Club - Bolt Action Competition
DESCRIPTION:The Hull & East Riding Wargames Club is the new name for what used to be North Hull Wargames Club. The club came into being in the 1960’s with famous members including Peter Gilder\, Duncan MacFarlane and Harry Harrison. Since that time the club has developed with the times including many other well known people in our hobby.\nIn 2021 we moved locations to the current residence at Garden Village Community Centre in Hull\, meeting every Saturday between 12pm to 6pm. \nThis is the first Bolt Action organised competition at the club. After a lot of interest in Bolt Action by members it was suggested to create a fun competitive competition. Eighteen members have put their name forward to play.\nThe competition will be organised in the following way. Two leagues of nine people\, each player in their league will play an opponent once\, (8 games). The person at the top of the league after all games have been played will play the other league’s winner in a final game to see who is champion. As well as prizes provided by Warlord Games\, a trophy will be purchased. This will encourage the club to hold the event at least on an annual basis. \nWe choose Bolt Action 3 for its fantastic game play\, realistic Second World War details\, and flexibility. A number of new members have recently purchased the Bolt Action 3 rule book as well as figures to get ready for the game. With Warlord Games generous prize offer\, the competition will undoubtedly be a success. Any interest from non members are welcome to visit and join in from 12pm to 6pm every Saturday. SUMMARY:V3 Bolt Action event – Barbarossa
DESCRIPTION:To fight for prizes\, promote the game and venue\, and\nto have FUN! This is a themed event in JUL ’41; Operation Barbarossa the invasion of\nRussia. It is a 2-round event with tiered lists from 1250 (20 dice limit) and 750 (12 dice\nlimit). Participants will match up as either an Axis player or a Russian player in the\nfirst month of the operation.\nThere will be up to 10 tables that will cover geography of the central Russia.\nCommanders will have to fight in cities\, railyards\, forests\, and pastures with\nfarmhouses. Additional victory points are awarded for creating a platoon/company\nbased (loosely) on a real unit that fought in the above theater at the time mentioned\n(encouragement for players to study history and then try to re-enact it as well as\npaying homage to those veterans). Finally\, each Commander is allowed to purchase\nminefields and/or a veteran tank crewman (Tank War concept) if they desire to add\nadditional reality or flexibility to their company.\nThe venue and other sponsors donate funds for prize support to encourage\nmaximum attendance and FUN!! At least half the prize support is purchased from\nWarlord Games.
