SUMMARY:Battle for Stalingrad!
DESCRIPTION:The Battle for Stalingrad is an immersive\, non competitive 2 day event which will see a total of 20 played scenarios chosen from Warlord Games’ Stalingrad and Case Blue campaign books. These Scenarios will involve steppe fighting before the siege of Stalingrad\, scenarios of the Soviet counteroffensive in the snowy\, frozen Winter of 43 and of course scenarios within the city where Germans and Soviets will fight for every inch on the game board. Iconic fights such as the Concrete Monolith and Pavlov’s house are among a long list of the many bloody battles that will be fought. \nFriuli War Games\, with this event\, is trying to organize a proper “Bolt Action Experience”. where players coming from all over Italy will feel immersed in these historic battles. The main goal if everyone to have as much fun as possible and to feel like they’re on the battle field with the (plastic) troops. With this mentality\, the group is looking to create a one of a kind event in Italy\, and to create a format which can be used for other campaigns in the future. We are working very hard to create the best quality tables and scenarios as possible\, to build a strong community for this more historical way of playing the beautiful game that is Bolt Action.  \nPictures and battle reports will follow the event…With Battle for Stalingrad we will be saying “goodbye V2 and welcome V3” as this event will be played using the V2 rules not having enough time to experiment with the new rules.

DESCRIPTION:Dans l’Est de la France\, on  s est rendu compte  qu’il n’y avait rien sur bolt action en tournoi.\n. nous avons donc décidé avec mon association “Les grognards d’Alsace” de devenir le plus grand tournoi de France de bolt action car nous avons un bel endroit à Strasbourg et de plus c’est très important pour nous de faire vivre la communauté !\n En fait\, nous organisons un grand tournoi deux jours par an pour le jeu bolt action.\n Pour chacun nous avons reçu de superbes compliments qui nous on donné envie de continuer et\n Cette année sera le  3iem\n Fort de notre expérience\, nous espérons être le plus grand tournoi français avec 28 joueurs et peut-être plus (nous avons 40 places)\nNous avons des joueurs qui viennent de toute la France et même de l’Allemagne (nous avons 5 joueurs allemands). Notre proximité avec l’Allemagne nous permet de nouer des partenariats avec eux.\n En effet nous avons reçu des joueurs de toute la France\, comme  de Paris et même Marseille dans le Sud\n Nous sommes tous prêts de 28 inscrits et nous somme le plus grand tournoi de France d’apres T3.\n De plus je pense que nous avons la plus belle table bolt action pour jouer.! On se donne beaucoup de mal pour ça.

We can\, however\, reveal that this year’s Open Day miniature will portray legend of Special Forces\, Lieutenant-Colonel ‘Paddy’ Mayne. \n‘Paddy’ Mayne\n\n\n\nA celebrated athlete and sportsman prior to WWII\, the Irish-born Mayne represented both the British Lions and Ireland in rugby. His antics during the British Lions tour of 1938 became the stuff of legend – and frankly\, were a little bit bonkers. \nAccording to legend\, Mayne was recruited into the SAS from a prison cell (awaiting court martial for having struck a commanding officer) but injected much-needed success into the SAS operations in the campaigns of North Africa. Mayne personally claimed over 100 aircraft destroyed during airfield strikes over this period. \nMayne took command of 1st SAS Regiment in January 1943\, embarking on campaigns through Western Europe. His last feat of heroics occurred at the head of the Allied advance into Germany on 9th April 1945\, where he coolly drove a jeep up and down a road adjacent to a woodland near Oldenburg filled with German positions allowing his gunner to continuously pour fire into them. For this last action\, he was controversially not awarded a Victoria Cross. \nThe ‘Paddy’ Mayne miniature will be free to every attendee of the Open Day. If you are unable to attend the event itself and still want the miniature\, fear not\, it will also be available for sale on the Warlord Webstore between 3rd and 4th September 2022.
