SUMMARY:Battle for Stalingrad!
DESCRIPTION:The Battle for Stalingrad is an immersive\, non competitive 2 day event which will see a total of 20 played scenarios chosen from Warlord Games’ Stalingrad and Case Blue campaign books. These Scenarios will involve steppe fighting before the siege of Stalingrad\, scenarios of the Soviet counteroffensive in the snowy\, frozen Winter of 43 and of course scenarios within the city where Germans and Soviets will fight for every inch on the game board. Iconic fights such as the Concrete Monolith and Pavlov’s house are among a long list of the many bloody battles that will be fought. \nFriuli War Games\, with this event\, is trying to organize a proper “Bolt Action Experience”. where players coming from all over Italy will feel immersed in these historic battles. The main goal if everyone to have as much fun as possible and to feel like they’re on the battle field with the (plastic) troops. With this mentality\, the group is looking to create a one of a kind event in Italy\, and to create a format which can be used for other campaigns in the future. We are working very hard to create the best quality tables and scenarios as possible\, to build a strong community for this more historical way of playing the beautiful game that is Bolt Action.  \nPictures and battle reports will follow the event…With Battle for Stalingrad we will be saying “goodbye V2 and welcome V3” as this event will be played using the V2 rules not having enough time to experiment with the new rules.

It is organised by a bunch of guys who are keen – call it fanatical – games players who wanted to run the UK’s best games convention (Richard Denning and Pat Campbell who founded the event\, Tony Hyams who with Richard is the director\, Lindsey Harrison who runs the volunteers\, John Dodd who is the power behind anything RPG\, Keith Thomasson who looks after logistics and Queen of Admin Caroline Dorel.) \nUK Games Expo is now a very time consuming operation and all of us spend hundreds of hours on it. \nWe also rely on a host of volunteers of which there are too many to name here. All are UNPAID volunteers who help run the event because they like it to succeed. \nWho comes to UK Games Expo? In 2014 we had 5000 unique visitors and 10000 attendances over the weekend. This includes many gamers of all types but also a large number of families and children.
