SUMMARY:Battle for Stalingrad!
DESCRIPTION:The Battle for Stalingrad is an immersive\, non competitive 2 day event which will see a total of 20 played scenarios chosen from Warlord Games’ Stalingrad and Case Blue campaign books. These Scenarios will involve steppe fighting before the siege of Stalingrad\, scenarios of the Soviet counteroffensive in the snowy\, frozen Winter of 43 and of course scenarios within the city where Germans and Soviets will fight for every inch on the game board. Iconic fights such as the Concrete Monolith and Pavlov’s house are among a long list of the many bloody battles that will be fought. \nFriuli War Games\, with this event\, is trying to organize a proper “Bolt Action Experience”. where players coming from all over Italy will feel immersed in these historic battles. The main goal if everyone to have as much fun as possible and to feel like they’re on the battle field with the (plastic) troops. With this mentality\, the group is looking to create a one of a kind event in Italy\, and to create a format which can be used for other campaigns in the future. We are working very hard to create the best quality tables and scenarios as possible\, to build a strong community for this more historical way of playing the beautiful game that is Bolt Action.  \nPictures and battle reports will follow the event…With Battle for Stalingrad we will be saying “goodbye V2 and welcome V3” as this event will be played using the V2 rules not having enough time to experiment with the new rules.

DESCRIPTION:About WAR TORN\nScarborough Wargames Club aka Da Orcs Lair is delighted to welcome you to War Torn\, our summer weekend charity event. \nIn 2011 we changed our supporting charity\, and have been fund raising for Help for Heroes ever since. For each visitor we donate £1 to charity. \nWeekend Schedule\nThroughout the weekend we are hosting several tournaments\, participation games\, a Bring & Buy\, guest speakers and trade show\, show casing some of the finest models available in the UK. For more details on who is attending see our traders page. \nWe are also hosting a variety of visitor participation and demo games\, allowing you to try your hand at wargaming or get gaming with a system you love. More information on what clubs are coming and the games they are bringing can be found in thegames section. Anybody interested in competitive play should see our tournaments page for details on this years competitions. We have some great prizes and will have a tombola running over the course of the weekend. \nNew for 2014 is our guest speakers. The first to be announced is author Steve Dunn\, who will be doing a talk on the Battle of Coronel. His talk focuses on Rear Admiral Sir Christopher Cradock and whether he was actually at fault for the Royal Navy’s disasterous defeat. \nTime & Place\nWar Torn 2014 is scheduled for the 29 – 30 June in the Scarborough Spa Complex which is situated on the picturesque sea front. Doors open both days at 10 AM. We are situated over several rooms\, including the Grand Hall. \nA Licensed bar\, ATM\, restaurant and cafe are on site. Nearby is Scarboroughs historic castle and the beautiful South Bay beach. For details on parking\, travel and accomodation please see the Find Ussection. \nTickets and Club attendance\nPricing is £4 which gets you a weekend ticket.
